Looking at what's available on TV now is like looking at a barren wasteland, no real comedy, God bless you Larry.

Masterful. A true comic with impeccable timing, one of the greats. It all seems so effortless, but the comedian fraternity all agreed that Larry was up there with the very best as he worked and worked with performance at his core A true entertainer who truly loved his audience. My mother met him once and he was a total gentleman with time for everyone God bless you Larry. A lovely man x

I grew up seeing things like this on TV, together with Dick Emery and Are You Being Served. Larry Grayson was a true genius and excellent performer. He had the Ken Dodd way of making people laugh, really enjoy themselves and not have to result to crude language. I have started watching these shows now I am older and can appreciate the true value.

Larry always won over an audience within seconds and the intimacy of the City Varieties was perfect for him; seated and relaxed, he was at his finest with this sweetly charming but sweetly cheeky song, 'Madeira, M'dear'.

My nan had a bicycle exactly like that one. My nan & grandad were also fortunate enough to get tickets for The Good Old Days. Such tickets were as rare as hens teeth so I was told and one's name could be on the waiting list for many years. As a nipper I loved Leonard Sachs and The Good Old Days on TV.
