I hope you all don't mind me asking: who or what the hell is jojo? I've never heard of this jojo thing before. I'm only here for the music. I'd like to hear more about that. It sounds interesting, I just don't know much about it. I hope my comment doesn't get flooded with nonsense replies.

@@stuartadamsrailfanningvideos I assume you're not trolling (no offense). JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a pretty famous manga series from mangaka Hirohiko Araki, that tells the story of the Joestar family and how their fate is tied with a man named Dio. The manga is segmented in parts and each part tells the story of one Joestar. The first one is Jonathan Joestar (JoJo) and every other protagonist after him is also called JoJo by their friends. The manga got many animated adaptations and the third one features this song as its ending credits

I remember my father playing this song for me and my sister in the car when he took us places, so hearing this song come back again in my life through JoJo made me tear up. I’m glad more people can be introduced to this music.

This is one of the few songs I know of that tells a story without a single lyric. It is quite simply beautiful.
Imagine: You saw 5 people roaming around and they have a dog, 1 month later you see only 3 people left, and the dog is gone, after that the two of them seperate from the other, 12 years later, you see only a turtle with a man that looks familiar from the one you saw in the metro.

One my all time favorite songs. I’ve loved this song for over 30 years. It reminds me life is a journey and to enjoy the ride, including the bumps along the way. The bumps are lessons which move us all forward. I hope I have many more decades ahead.

This music and the video brings back memories of my Grandfather. He used to work for the Railroad as a fireman before they came out with the diesel electrics. He shared the stories of what he did and the countryside that he traveled through. I also remember the time when my Dad headed out from Seattle and went to the Yakima Valley on the train and he waved to us as we were standing on the platform. I was just a kid at the time back in the 60's. Everytime I go to the Sacramento train Museum these memories come back along with this music.

This reminds me of summer nights in the backyard as a kid playing with my Dad and brother with this playing in the background (as well as all of his other albums). Pat Metheny was my dad's favorite artist and would listen to him religiously. This was the song he chose for us all to listen to at his funural while we said our goodbyes to him. I lost touch with his music for a long long time, i guess i wasnt ready to go there emotionally. when I decided to go through his CD collection THIS was the first song i chose to listen to because the name seemed so familiar. Immediately as soon as it started playing it felt like i was there with him, i sat with it on repeat for atleast an hour crying/sobbing. even to this day over another decade later it will bring me to tears. Love you Dad and Pat for creating something so beautiful 🥲🥰

For me, this song brings back good memories from way back. I live in the Southeastern US, where a grocery store chain called Publix is very common, and very popular. Publix is also very well-known for their clever ads, especially at the holidays; some of those ads are famous. Well, the first of the holiday commercials to gain big attention was back in the late 80s; it featured this song by the Pat Metheny Group, and showed a family of three on a train, coming from the snowy north to Florida, to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas with grandma and grandpa. It interspersed shots of some of the delicious holiday food being prepared... which, of course, was available at the stores. The last shot shows the whole family eating that holiday feast together... on a boat all decorated with lights. It was well done, and was used by the store chain every holiday season for years, before they started producing new and equally memorable ones. You can find the original Publix ad here on KZitem, if you're interested. So, for me, this song brings back memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas, because of that classic Publix commercial.

Pat Metheny's music simply defies easy categorization...which makes it even better. It changes according to his accompanying line-up, but remains true to his musical muse. I've loved him since the mid '70's when I first heard the song "New Chatauqua". His collaboration with Jim Hall is pure genius. Pat is pure genius. His music will always remain relevant.
