a. yes, it's a huge improvement over your last Lateralus lesson video.... b. i m not an expert, just a normal guitar player, but i felt that the chorus you showed didn't sound like in the records....felt like something is missing.....maybe it's just me... c. no matter what, i just cannot get the 9/8, 8/8, 7/8 thing....haha.

You add a note that isn't there in the intro riff. you double up on the 7th fret D string. its 7-5h7 not 7-7-5h7, that 7 you hear is just reverb.

At 8:27 the solo part, wouldn't the first section be 0-10-0-12? It shows 0-10-12. Edit: that's how you're playing it it seems but the song is what you transcribed. Maybe I misheard what you were doing? Love the videos. Audio is great. Tabs are great. You're entertaining and your sound is amazing. Wouldnt mind a run down of your gear at the end of a video to help us understand what you're doing to get your sound

The song doesn’t start in a swing feel right of the bat, it’s straight for the majority of the intro and then it slowly transitions into swing

Yes, I missed an edit and realized it after upload. I wasn't doing all that export/import again. So, I threw up the end promos and left it. It kinda works... I sold it years ago. And, I probably did play it differently. I mean, you're essentially tremolo picking and bending half steps, play it however you want, haha.

Great tutorial. I have one criticism however. The verse riff is the same with the 7-5-3 the whole way through, not just the second half. I used to hear it same as you but after seeing AJ play it, I think it's simply the drums that accentuate the riff and make it sound different. kzitem.info/news/bejne/poqM04BtfKWFZKw

Bit hard on the swing groove compared to original. Nice correction at beginning of 1st solo! Not trying to be "that guy" but sometimes just one off note in a Tool song can throw off the whole rhythm. Not in this case, but often. Dig your shit btw AOC. If I had a teleporter, we could have the jam to end all jams!

The intro, guitar-wise at least, is actually not a triplet feel. Not _every_ note of it is perfectly straight, but it's certainly not swung overall. The beat behind it leading into the drums is a triplet feel, but the guitar is not.
