Does anybody knows that why nitriding can't occur at high temperature (for example 750 ºC or 850 ºC)? The ammonia decomposition rate is fairly high so that more nitrogen atom can be generated at surface at higher temperature. Also, the diffusion rate of nitrogen is also higher which is good for nitriding. So why the nitriding cannot occur at a higher temperature(>650 ºC)?

@@vaibhav8257 Thank you! But it only answer why we needn't heat more than 550 ºC, but at a higher temperature, will the nitriding happen or not?
