*I've seen so many comments mention it, so I guess I should pin a response. There are no leaves on the other cars because I already cleaned them off, bagged them up and burned them. People were coming by later that day to look at them and potentially purchase. It had also been raining and weighed down a lot of leaves. There's also a tree that grows right in front of the Mustang. Please use your brain. Why would I film myself cleaning off the other vehicles?* Part 2 is now up: kzitem.info/news/bejne/moqQ2JtqrmmSpKQ *I will be posting the entire restoration process on this channel, so please subscribe if you would like to follow along!*

Mine has nowhere near the personal history that yours does, but my dad had two 1969 Mustangs when I was growing up (a 302 Coupe that he bought in '87 & a H-Code Mach 1 that he rescued from being used as a parts car in 1991.) He built the coupe into a summer DD, and started working on the Mach. He sold the coupe to help fund the Mach, before realizing he was in over his head & lost interest. The car has always meant a lot to me, so he signed her over to me after I graduated high school back in 2008. I'm a year younger than you, and in a similar situation with the car. I've been around these cars pretty much my entire life and would love to connect with you. Your car looks to be a 1970 H-Code (2V 351 Cleveland) with the 3 speed FMX automatic. This is the lowest optioned Mach that was available, but is still a true Mach. 1969's had the 351 Windsor, 1970 was the first year for the Cleveland, but could have either. Yours appears to be the Cleveland (you can tell by where the coolant hose comes in.) Hope this helps! Feel free to message me with any questions. I'm looking forward to following your build.

What a journey to take! If I had to give some friendly advice I'd recommend coming up with a simple system of cataloging the "nuts and bolts" when disassembling an older car like this. A project like this can be really enjoyable if you don't try to rush it and bust your bank account at the same time. This past summer, my father and I swapped the original suspension on a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang to a rack and pinion setup. It was a fun mini project to put life back into the car. Best

@@davidjohnson8474 Thanks, but my journey down that road is pretty much over. Only took 20yrs. and more money than I could have imagined at the outset. But similar to this young man, I inherited the car from my older brother, and I let sentimental attachments override financial considerations. It was my first car and I've still got it. It's a resto-mod and I went waaay overboard, but wow is it fun!

We already cleaned off the others because we had people come over to view them that were interested in purchasing them. My dad had well over 25+ vehicles on the property. I try to not be rude, but you should really think before you assume and post. We had been cleaning off vehicles all day for viewing and I stopped in between to film this video and clean the mustang off. There's literally a tree right in front of the car and you can see more leaves on the ground and around the cleaned off cars. My mom is selling the others as quickly as possible to help pay for things after my dads passing. I will be anxiously awaiting your response. 👍

He loved all things Ford, but he didn't always take care of them like he should have. In some future videos you'll see that there's easily 25+ cars sitting around ranging from 1950's to early 2000's models. He had a lot of projects to say the least.

Pixelated , he has the car now because his Dad was smart enough to keep it and didn’t make a damn stock car out of it like most idiots did back then. It’s here today because he kept it. Not everyone can put things away in perfect storage idiot. But by God he had it and you don’t. I’ve fixed worse than that car . Been doing auto body for 40 years. What seems impossible to some is nothing for another. Just have to have determination and you can do anything. Never go wrong with building a stang. Still have my high school car a 68 Gt. 390 fastback my Dad was a used car dealer and was called mustang Ed at the auction. Bought many mustangs , my favorite was a 65 Gt 350 Shelby . It’s all about the memories and we have them.

Good luck with your Mach 1. Glad you're felling better. Pretty much everything is available for them but you'll need a solid credit card. You can do things in chunks - 1st get it running, 2nd interior, 3rd exterior, etc. Pull the plugs and pour a small amt of Marvel Mystery Oil into ea cyl and let it soak for a wk. Then take a socket on a breaker bar and see if you can turn the engine clock wise by hand. If you can, you've got an engine you can work with. If not, you have a 351C 2b boat anchor. Looks like your dad had a fender bender in the driver's door and qtr. Hoping the floor isn't rusted out but it appears you have a solid car. Won't know for sure until you get all that shag carpet out. Would love a video of the other cars your dad collected. My dad passed suddenly at age 65. He collected old cars. We kept a couple of them and sold everything else. 1st day was parts - fenders, doors, frames, engines, etc, 2nd day was whole cars (there were 30+). My 1st car was an olive green 70 Mach 1 351C 2b that had been hit in the rear. Dad and I repaired to to better than new cond.
