I just had a pontine stroke last November and I thought I couldn't stand and walk again. While in bed in the hospital, my simple travel goal was to go to the bathroom. I was thinking of crawling my way but afraid to fall from my bed. I just followed my therapist and eventually cleared for discharge after just a week of confinement. At home, I just kept repeating what my therapist told me and one day, I was able to do my business in the bathroom. I'd say that if you have the will to recover, just follow your Doctor very seriously.

Non weight bearing post surgical very bad broken ankle. I am getting muscle atrophy,Im older with little muscle strength so in a wheel cair. I need to walk again and need to try and build muscle. I was having a normal life til the fall.😢

Thanks very much. I got my eight leg amputated under the knee 8 years ago, and my left foot is fitted with screws and plates, thus i gained a lot of weight as i cannot walk far. I have been bedbound since having my son 4 years ago. Don't know why or what happened. Partial diagnosis severe POTS. I only recently been able to sit up for a short period of time. I have not been able to get a PT because moving and drinking water would knock me out. I have been doing alot better with this so now i can finally start working up my strength. I really want to walk again one day and so much has happened physically and mentally i started losing faith in myself. This video made me gain a little more faith back. I couldn't believe how i was able to keep up with all these exercises. Thank you so much. You don't know what this means to me.

Hi. Just wanted to mention in case you don't know about it, have they checked for a csf leak? Spinal, not cranial. Some get spontaneous leaks from giving birth and other strenuous things, other get it as a medical injury if they have the epidural injection (or lumbar punctures, like in my case). POTS symptoms can in some cases be somewhat similar. Iatrogenic leaks can be long lasting if you don't get proper treatment, unlike what some websites may claim. If you had an epidural and there's a leak from that, it's sometimes easy to fix. Maybe this is not the case for you at all, but I thought it's worth mentioning.

@@prettyrecklesdes With iatrogenic leaks, in the majority of cases it doesn't show up on any imaging even if there is a leak (lumbar punctures to check the pressure is also not reliable for it). Just a heads up. I'm also bedbound but can imagine it is even more of a struggle with having a child. I hope things get better for you.

@LouBlueable I am sorry to hear that, I hope you get well soon. I did have many imaging and a lumbar puncture. So I don't know, maybe they could've missed something. It has been hard. My son just tuned 5, so it's been 5 years now. I am doing a little better, but it's still not good enough to not be lying down bedbound.

Hi my father in law is bed bound because he has not feeling from knee down to his foot. He had back operation but that didn't work. He gets unbelivable pain when he gets up from bed to sit down The excercise he had from the hospital helped him to sit up but didnt help his feet. I broke my fibula 4 weeks ago. I've only been able to start getting out of bed this last week because when I fell, I had other minor injuries, on top of neuropathy. My legs have atrophied so much! I've started your video, mainly on my un-broken leg to strengthen it. Oh my goodness...it hurts! But the good way. I can feel movement & it feels empowering! I discovered I'm not a very patient person, so I can't wait to get this boot off & use your video to get back on my feet! Thanks for sharing this video!

I had lapidus procedure on left foot. I've had many setbacks and am in a wheelchair most of the day or in bed, after 11 weeks. Only 3 or so of those weeks was I in a knee scooter or walker. Now my right foot is weak as i stretched the muscle at the bottom of my foot and have arch pain as well. I hVe noticed my calf muscle is experiencing little pains here or there in randomn areas, as i use that leg to help scoot me around. If possible i wheel just wheel myself. Are the pains in my right calf due to strain combined with muscle loss? I want to do your exercises asap. What can I modify? What should I avoid? Any recommendations? I appreciate you help. (Waiting for pt evaluation in a few weeks). I'm desperate. Thank you

After spinal surgery, I had a spinal epidural hematoma, and the internal bleeding lasted almost 7 days until they realized the hematoma and i was sent into emergency surgery to stop the internal bleeding. I walked into the hospital thinking simple spinal surgery like last time and woke paraplegic.i was told I'd never walk again. I walked out of their sister hospital 30 days later. I'ts been 3.5 yrs ago and I suddenly feel very weak and no muscle strength in my legs. This is why I'm here, and I am so grateful for this gentleman. Thank you, sir! I still have paralysis like saddle parathesia and feel very little from the trunk down, but I've always been able to do mind over matter until now. Am I tired and losing my will? I often wonder.

I have been bedridden for over 6 years 24/7 barely moving. Will being bedridden kill me ? Will getting up kill ne if my heart is weak from being bedridden so long ? I am so sick.

Being bedridden definitely sucks. Start moving in bed and slowly get yourself up by raising the head of the bed up if you are on a hospital bed or propping up with pillows. Sit up for 5 minutes every hour to start with

Thank you I have started this exercise at least 2-3 times every day and I can see results. I was in hospital for 6 weeks for infection and they didn’t allowed me walking when I’m back I couldn’t feel any feeling in my left leg knee and hip . Thank god I found this exercise video. Before hospitalisation I was walking with walker. Now started walking with walker again. Thank you so much 🙏😊
