It's of course 100% reasonable and valid to feel self-conscious about your height if that's how you feel - just about all of us are self-conscious about some aspect of our appearances. But i just wanna reaffirm that, from an external perspective, being a nice person is infinitely more important than being tall, and i think the majority of people (particularly, y'know, other nice people lol) would agree with that. Some people have physical preferences when it comes to attraction, some people prefer tall guys, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that; not a single person in the world is everyone's type. But a good personality is what carries any relationship long-term.

2 things: 1- the leg lengthening surgery is actually meant for people with limb discrepancies (like one leg is way shorter than the other) to make life easier for them. you actually can do it to arms as well 2- i saw this guy on instagram who got this surgery because he was 6’ and wanted to be WAY taller than his 5’9 wife, not just a LITTLE taller… he also tried to rationalize it by saying that because he’s a bodybuilder, longer legs will give him more muscles to grow and expand on…
@Lemonpeppergoblin
Жыл бұрын
He'll ironically have a difficult time trying to bodybuild. Given this surgery supposedly heavily impacts leg strength and your ability to do much strenuous sports even after the long physio recovery. I feel like any heavy cardio or leg day is off the table, hell a 5 foot drop would be enough to put him in a chair. If he's a serious body builder also his proportions would be way off and would struggle maintaining any serious mass. Given how high the complication risks are also its really not worth it all imo. I'll stick to being 5' 8.
@polipettoo

The video of the guy intentionally crashing his plane was almost too much to handle for me. My father is an airplane mechanic and started a flying club, so I grew up in and around airplanes. Once, my family almost got into a plane crash because my dad got disoriented while flying, and that experience was so traumatizing my mother refused to be on an airplane for years after. I was eight or so, pretty young, but even thinking back now it was a scary experience. Recently, one of my dad’s acquaintances who was a flight instructor crashed a plane and died, so to see someone intentionally crash an airplane feels careless and disrespectful to people who have been injured or died in crashes. It revolts me.

Hello, I got this surgery. I want to talk about it from my perspective. I was born with a short femur, meaning that it was literally shorter than my other leg. A few years ago my doctor recommended a surgery to me (leg lengthening surgery) it wasn’t my first surgery. It was maybe my tenth. Anyways, the surgery literally saved my leg as it was at risk for being amputated. Now when I found it this surgery was being used for people who want to he taller, I was pissed off. The surgery was made by my doctor for people like me with a disability. No matter how tall you want to be, don’t get a surgery that’s meant for people for disabilities. It takes away recourses from other people. Also, the surgery hurts like HELL. I got it done twice. Worst fucking pain ever.

Everytime I see "AI" I think it says "AL"...but with your comment for some reason I read it as Weird Ai

I am currently "regrowing" 5CM of my right tibia that a nasty bone infection ate away. Having this frame drilled onto your leg is no joke, you're completely incapacitated. You have virtually zero indepence, you need a caretaker to help you out with simple tasks such as taking a bath. I had to turn the knobs on the frame everyday for 2 months to lenghten the bone and the pain is unreal. I don't want to judge anyones life decisions but I cannot comprehend how can anyone deliberately go through such an insane amount of pain for merely cosmetic reasons. I am doing it because this could potentially save me from an amputation/being permanently disabled but honestly I hope I NEVER have to go through this again.
