This game was absolutely fantastic. I hope more chapters come out.

Stretch Goal Dream: Rahdo -recorded runthrough. Man, I'd pay for an audio version of that, something to listen to on the bus. I don't know that I'd ever play this game, but I'd certainly listen to you and Jen go through it :) That said, thank you for your thoughts, very interesting stuff at least :)

I would suggest checking out the "Fabled Lands" game books. Not the rpg (newer) but the old "fighting fantasy style" books. Together they play as an open world rpg. There is even a java app for the pc thats free that contwins all 6 books. Or do wgat i did. Print them out and hard bind it as a single volume.

My dad played something like this with me when i was a child ^^ not really a game but he told me a “choose your own adventure story“. He made it up all by himself ^^ it was really cool. Even now i would like to try out PnP

You're always so positive, do you ever hate a game when you play it? A few people are saying this one is super slow, it doesn't sound like you thought so. Thanks again Richard.

faq.rahdo.com #7 i talked about the slowness near the end of this as a warning that some folks might find there's not enough action

This game sounds like Sleeping Gods and would suit my Mrs and Granddaughter down to a Tee. No fighting or minimal, take our time, and like reading a fantasy/mystery type of book while actually playing a game. Gees even Charlotte dies at the end of Charlotte's Web. Henry dies at the end of the Tripod Trilogy, etc. A game where we can make the story happen as we go along sounds perfect. Being in my mid-50s I have gone way past the battle scenes all the time I so often hear about in board game reviews, and I am tired of it. A game where we can just relax and talk about things as we progress is precisely what I am looking for.

it definitely provides all that. my only warning is to be aware about some of the choices you make, because certain paths can take the story to a place so bleak it can go beyond stunning. i talked about this a bit here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0auVy3-ij6WJpGU :)

This sounds right up our alley! I’ve been really frustrated with choose-your-own-adventure game stories that default to a male main character and contain very stereotypical gender role assignments.

Is this game still fun if you don't like fantasy or sci-fi? Much prefer realistic themes. The game mechanisms sound intriguing to me. We love games like Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, but did NOT like Time Stories at all because of all the dice rolling.

My eye keeps going toward this game every time I see it mentioned...I like the CYOA aspect of it and am not afraid of reading in a game. I started as a role-player and it's still where my core is at. Also, I think the disclaimer was a nice touch. No need to go into that whole SJW stuff, IMO, just a quick note that it has inclusive themes or some such. If you do a parental guide for it, that would be awesome. I may consider purchasing the game for light RPG nights with friends or play it with my son, but I'll need to go through it first to make sure there's nothing that'll cause issues with him or my wife (who isn't a gamer at all) ;) Thanks for the talkthrough!

Mine just arrived. I usually I'm one of those you are talking about in the end of the video, but to be honest when it is fantasy I am just not bothered by it (my favourite DnD setting is Forgotten Realms, which I play like Ed Greenwood says it should be played, so loads of gender bending, orgies and pansexual stuff. I also play a lot of Pathfinder and LGTB presence in that game is pretty overt, but since it is part of the setting I am OK with it, when people try to include black openly gay people in the historical Eurasian Middle Ages, whitout them being burned alive for provoking droughts or some of that stuff they used to believe, is when I flip). Some of my male and female characters in those settings had been gay, although I usually roleplay pretty asexually (but bards gonna bard) Anyway, thanks for the heads up not many, specially in the opposition, do this kind of stuff, I'll subscribe just for that.
