The best practice is to replace all the backlight strips no matter if its a single or more than one part because soon or later another led will fail and removing the glass panel is a little nightmare so is better to do this task only once for every tv or monitor. Also if is possible is good to lower somehow the led current by changing some resistor value in the circuit around the led driving IC according to the pdf datasheet of the chip (not recomended for everyone except if you know exactly what are you doing since a worst damage may occur).

Good job as usual ❤️. Good knowledge you're sharing. Sorry was busy the past days. Was not on media. Did seen any of your new video you uploaded. Was busy with the LG TV I told about it. Infact you was right 👉. I gone deeper and examined the tcon board the flex cable ribbon. But the problem was the panel. What you was saying. The Coff had been burn from the panel. There many damages on the components. Thanks for advice.

You are the expert. Hello. I have a television unknown manufacturer I don't have a short in the various parts I don't exhaust the problem I have a ceramic cable with a disconnector at the base Could this be the problem? Put everything in the electricity for a second Like connectors without an antenna and only the red lamp of the Stan B works Thank you, you are a champion

Thank you for this video :), but will add my 3 pence to it, hope you don't mind :). 1. I've got a bad experience with replacing single diodes. My customers were coming back to me sooner or later. That's why I've started to replace a whole strip. I think the rest of the diodes received over current/voltage and start to damage quicker. So yes, this will work and the customer will be happy, the question is will be a more value for the customer to replace those 2 diodes, or a whole strip, maybe diodes on the strip instead if/when possible. 2. I love your old school, I can't show the same way and promote it on this/my KZitem channel cause people here in the UK can afford a whole strip, and the cost of replacing each and every diode (which I have in stock) would cost them more than replacing a whole strip. Why? Because I charge £30/h and to do a whole strip will take quite a bit of a time. But the strip is quite cheap. And, I think we can agree that you can fit a whole strip from one device to another ;). As long as you'll have 3 or 6 volts match and as long as you can solder the connector and will fit inside the monitor, you'll be fine ;). Your way od repairs remind me my repairs when I was starting fixing electronics in the '90s in Poland. You could cut of the power supply from one TV just to install it somewhere else and the customer was really happy even with that Frankenstein :D. Now, just different times, people have too much money to care about the right to repair, or recycling ;) IMHO. I don't mean all, I mean most. 3. You can use a hot plate, even attach something on your tip of the soldering iron which you can screw into the soldering iron tip and will have a small, but flat surface. You can get them cheap on Aliexpress, if you can't, please find me at Inte.Team at Livingston on google maps, or e-mail cause I wrote to you, and I can send you one. Have them here. You'll see how much better is to do repairs of those things with this hot plate :).

Agreed, individual LED replacement can be a cheap fix but I’ve had too many TVs die after replacing individuals that I just do them all now.

No available strip in my area. it's a 22 inches LED monitor with no available strip to it. It will last about 2 more years by decreasing the LED current. Your country is different from my country. If my customer agreed to just the defective will only to replaced? Why not work on it, at least the labor is worth for.

You're right that my strategy is subject to parts availability. No shame in fixing it so that it works like you did! I can tell from your awesome videos that you will fix many things that most people in my country would throw away. I suspect this has made you the amazing technician you are and I'm greatful you share your experience. In my case I usually order from aliexpress individual LEDs in different colours/voltages or complete replacement strips if I can get them.

@@tevzTVTevatronics yes, the labour is worth = agree. But, I order strips from China, only order from UK when customers want a quick fix. Or use something that I can solder there :) and cut on the size :). But, yes, you're right. Those two countries are different. But, UK is wasting each and every year thousands of tonnes of e-waste per GOV data. I'm going on a bet that your country waste less ;). So, in that sense, your country is better. But, I've got a 5-star rating business here on Google. If I'd do temp repairs and did not offer a permanent fix, I'd loose those 5 stars quickly. And those big TVs is not nice to open them to fix the issue with diodes :D, at least for me.

Replaced one by one is a waste of time. There is no available led strip to replace it.
