I'm 87 years old ane a retired Graphic Artist of many years. I started doing what you do all by hand in 1957 then in my later years started using Sytex then Photoshop for the company i worked for. As my memory has faded i want to thank you for bringing back the many uses that can be done with photos. I do this now with Elements and it keeps my brain alive and away from alsimers. Again Thank You.

This is wonderful. I looked at your training courses on your website. Do you have one for 2024?.

Hi Kathy, right now I am working on a secret project that I will be announcing soon, a whole new style of training. Immediately after that I will be working on the 2024 course.

@@HTGPhoto Thanks George. I am waiting anxiously as new Mac OS Sonoma & PSE 2022 do not work well together.

@@johnburgess4561Hi John, that is a problem with PSE. Photoshop Elements is programmed for Windows, then it is converted over to the Mac. That tends to make it not as compatible on a Mac, it will have more problems, and new features may show up later on the Mac.

I'm new to your channel.... I really like how you explain everything step by step... I'm looking for a photo shop program where i can design illustrations for sublimation. do you recommend this program for that. I'm also new to photoshop so i was looking for something that will be easy to use. Thank you

Thanks! If you are planning on doing dye sublimation as a business or side hustle then I recommend the more powerful Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop Elements is great but it really isn't a professional level program. You can probably use it for a while as you build your business and it is a good place to learn how to use a photo editing program since it is very similar to Adobe Photoshop, but eventually you should switch to Photoshop as it is much more feature rich. Of course everything I show how to do on this channel will also work in Photoshop, so still a good place to learn, whichever program you end up with.

Thank you for another excellent video, I am considering purchasing your full PSE course, I read in a comment that you are releasing a new version, is this correct?
@HTGPhoto

Hi Anne, Yes, I create a new version of my training each year to go with the new version of Photoshop Elements that is released each year. Usually I just add in new videos for the new features, but about every 5 years I redo the entire course from scratch, and this is that year. Photoshop Elements 2024 hasn't been released yet but it should be available any day now. Once it is released I will get to work on the new course plus I will be putting videos up here on the new features. It usually takes me a couple of months to create all the videos for a new course so this course should be available some time in December.

I’m trying to do this on a Mac running Sonoma 14.4 and holding down the Ctrl key acts like clicking the right mouse button (a menu icon appears). Is there any other way to get the “pop text from below the line to above the line” trick to happen?

Hi, it should work just like shown in the video. I will do a new version of this in a day or so using 2024, it will be the same as 2023.

Real fast... check your steps. Triple click the text, it should be all selected, hold down the ctrl key then click into the text and keeping the mouse button held down drag the text in towards the center of the circle. You should see it flip around.

It does work on an ellipse, a circle is just a regular ellipse with a matching x and y axis.

Make sure that you have the shape layer selected and that it is still a shape layer and hasn't been simplified. Now with the text tool hover the tool over the shape and you should see the cursor change, don't click, just hover. If you are using an old version of Photoshop Elements this may not work the same.
