Senator Bridget McKenzie has slammed the Qantas CEO and Chair for their “level of disrespect” during a Senate inquiry after the airline representatives were grilled over their support for the ‘Yes’ campaign.
The Qantas CEO couldn’t recollect the exact date that the company agreed to support the Voice to Parliament ‘Yes’ campaign.
“This is quite incredible, this is the whole quid-pro-quo and no one came prepared to answer questions - what a surprise,” Ms McKenzie said.
Former Qantas boss Alan Joyce unveiled the planes with the Yes23 campaign logo at Sydney Airport in August alongside Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
It was revealed in the Senate inquiry that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s attendance at the company’s ‘Yes’ campaign launch was not reported to the Qantas board prior to the event.
