if nothing works, check the heating element and the heating coil! had a d80 error and after cleaning everything it still didnt work. Took it apart and found that the heating coil was cracked due to a loose screw on the barrel that had water leaking from it. Good luck people!

Going on having my dryer 2 years, this was throwing d90 and d95 codes since day 1. I had cleaned my vents prior to hooking up 2 years ago. I called Bob from India at support, WHAT A JOKE. Anyway the dryer is great for clothes and does not throw a code. When it comes to drying towels plan on turning off and on about 5 times before they get dry. Finally had enough and found time to mess with it. Did what’s stated in this video, no help. LG DRYER IS JUNK compared to a cheap dryer, but hey it looks prettier than the basic dryer 😡😡😡😡

that sucks. I'll def say I'm not a huge fan of the fancy style machines..but the wife likes them..so what can a hubby do. So far ours is still working. got them in 2015 or 16, here it is 2024. other than lint filter area clog and water pump filter on cleanout on the washer, they've been great. no other other needed, and we have two kids and 3 dogs.

So I did justice in within two cycles the D 80 code is back on. This is a new dryer. It’s only a year old. At this point I’m not sure what to do. Everything is completely unclogged . I even bought this long attachment to go through all the ductwork to clear it out from the dryer to outside the house . I’m still getting the same code

Bought my dryer in 2019. D80 came on within 2 years. Tech couldn't figure it out. Replaced the motherboard but didn't solve problem. I've replaced the duct hose and cleaned out the exhaust pipe. There was only some lint in both and cleaning out everything, including the dryer in the filter well, didn't stop D80.

This was a fantastic walkthrough on what to do, it helped me a ton! I do have an issue though I can't seem to screw back in the inside screw that's in the center (on the right) no matter what I try. Everything else is perfect and for some reason this screw seems suddenly too short to screw back in? It won't reach the edge just barely like it's similar screw right next to it's left. What should I do?

I have a newer model LG with the code d95 , unhook the hose and it was so water on the dryer exhaust (normal?) After drying the water run the dryer again without the hose just blowing the steam inside the house for testing and the same code came up , should I call LG or do something? The dryer is brand new delivered from Costco

@@aneesahm4301 I fix mine 🤞 Unhook the exhaust pipe clean the water the was leaking, went up to the attic where the pipe goes to the outside wall, unhook the pipe and surprise was a bird trying to do a nest, almost 3/4 of the 8ft pipe was full of branches, I clean everything attached it back and not problems so far. I was 100% that the pipe wasn't the issue since the house is fairly new but you never know what happen before you buy it. My guess is since the exhaust was blocked the steam from the dryer accumulated and leak, specially the exhaust that run up through the wall toward the attic. Good luck to you

Similar issue. Vacuum with long hose. Cleared crap and tested fine. Does anyone know if this is a direct path to vent outside? I was ready to block top and blow full power to clean up. Error cleared after vacuum.

Not exactly a directly line to the exhaust, no. It goes through the blower fan first after that filter housing before going to the exhaust.

I clean dryer vents. I just had a customer who's dryer keeps triggering the FLOW SENSE sensor. Dryer vent is clean, straight up, and blowing very well up on the roof. Customer says it doesn't trigger until exhaust is connected to the wall. Any thoughts???
@workingdad
2 жыл бұрын
not any good ideas I'm afraid. if vent is clean, any chance outlet is at an odd angle and outside wind blows back into it creating backpressure, thereby holding heat in the dryer? I live in the windy plains and there are days where wind gusts blow down sewer vent pipes and cause water in the toilets to surge up and down noticeably. wind can do so crazy things

This is exactly what mine is doing. Cleaned the entire duct to the roof, cleaned from the roof down, cleaned filter and it still will not dry unless I unhook the hose to the wall. Does anyone know what to do??

Hi, this may be a very late response but i have had the same thing happening with my dryer for a few months now. Note that it is a BRAND NEW townhome. We started getting d80 error after 6 months of using the dryer. Went out and bought an amazon kit to clean it and there was a lot of lint buildup. Cleaned both the lint filter (just like in this video), the hose to the duct and the vent itself. Still getting d80. I read from lg.com website that once you follow all the troubleshooting steps and still get blinking flow sense it may be because the sensor is oversensitive. I can disable it and the code will never come back however if D90 Code comes on then that means duct is 90% blocked and dryer will stop at a certain point and will not finish the cycle. Hopefully this helps as this is what i did for our dryer. The builder of the house already came and opened up the flaps of the duct not sure if that helped or did anything at all.

I have a brand new one acting like this. Has what looks like a d 80 code & the clothes were still half wet. Recently moved into a rental & I'm wondering if the entire set up that takes the air outside is clogged up. This brand new dryer was working great for about 6 weeks

@@Lady-Carmakazi I'm done with LG myself at this point. Tech support is a joke and clueless. I have tried everything including replacing control board and motor. ZERO obstructions and still get a d80 issue (even if NOT connected to exterior vent) All temp sensors, switch assemblies (belt and door) , igniter, flame assembly, elements, etc.. meter out correctly with proper continuity and resistance. Getting conflicting messages from the on-board diagnostis and the LG ThinQ Smart diagnostic app. POS is going out the door and finding another brand.
