I saw this Great Entertainer LIve in a College Concert in 1967. He completely had the entire audience of College students in the palm of his hand. He had 11 encores and just before the 11th one he came out and said. "This has to be the last one, kids"... concert started at 8 pm was supposed to be over at 10pm lasted till 12:15... what a great showman

I met Liberace at home in the early 1960s. My Uncle, Rolland Steiflel was Liberace's personal piano tuner. Though legally blind Rolland was a Master Piano Tuner under contract with Carnegie Mellon (Carnegie Hall) and Steinway. When Rolland came to California to visit, my Dad would drive him to Las Vegas to tune his other pianos. Once I was allowed to go. Liberace's house was just as extravagant as his sets! But he wore regular if impeccable clothes at home!

I've been reading his autobiographies & have a much better appreciation for him now. He said he wanted to be remembered as a kind & gentle soul. Appears to me he succeeded. It's fun to watch him playing the piano. His heart was in it . It's one thing to play notes. It's another to bring emotion into it. He was a fantastic pianist. It amazes me that there's never any music in front of him! He had such a genuine smile & those winks to the camera were fun & looked so friendly. He sure brought something to playing a piano that no one else had before. He said there was longevity in his family. Sure wish he'd enjoyed it, too. We need more kind & gentle souls.

I was in the sixth grade when he passed away and really knew little about him. What an Entertainer!!!! Thank God for Liberace and may God Rest His Soul!!! Rest Peacefully Mr. Showmanship!!!!

Liberace had 2 brothers and a sister. His sister, Angie, had 2 childen, and his older brother George, had 2 step-children. Also, his younger brother, Rudy, had 4 children. However, none of the children were musically inclined and were not interested in show business. Most of the children live in Calif.

@swingmusic001 during the 60's I never missed a performance he was giving in NYC (when NYC really had entertainment). I seen him at the Royal Box in the Waldorf Astoria many times and each was better than the previous. I modeled my style of playing after him and only wished I had a fraction of his talent. Will there ever be another Liberace??? I'm sure there will but not in my lifetime

Yeah that may be true about him being a Baldwin Artist, However, Liberace had piano that was a baby grand Stienway & Sons as well as one that was owned by the Great Frederick Chopin which was a Plial. (not sure on speling of this) and he also had some pianos that were Yamaha as well, according to Robin Leach of the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
