Having spent some time in Port Stanley in 1985 whilst serving with 1st battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers I can honestly say that the Falkland Islanders that I have met around Port Stanley seemed to be more patriotic about there U.K. roots than a lot of the the people from the U.K. Good people and very British. I’d love to go back there some day.

I was one of the Officers on Parade that day; I crammed my thickest thermals on under my service dress! The F.I. are an inhospitable place that time of year. An honour to be leading my Service contingent.

@@benwilson6145 I'm not justifying the invasion or the actions of the military during the war but I just don't understand how britain prides itself on having the largest empire that ever existed all while practically ignoring the abuses that took place in the making of that empire. P.S. I thought the british don't resort to name calling.
