We made a stop in Liberty, Washington, just southwest of Blewett Pass. And that's what we usually did, blew right past this historical gem. Liberty sits about 2 miles east of Hwy 97, is well marked with signs, and has a rich heritage. Gold was found, which brought miners into the area as early as 1872. The town grew to about 200 people with many businesses supporting the mining effort. When passing through, a stop into Liberty is well worth your time.
