I love the innocence and whimsy that is the local Japanese government making Pokémon manhole covers and creating a little passport stamp scavenger hunt 🥺. I've worked in city infrastructure in California and the cutest thing we have are little plaques on the ground encouraging people not to litter because the storm drains lead to the ocean. Sometimes there is a cute dolphin 🐬.

Its also great because if something happens people know where they are. If something is going on there, people will be more likely to figure out quickly what's going on and slow down and avoid hitting someone. Or oh! Maintenance is going on, the service it is covering should work but better tomorrow.

Stamp rallies are quite popular in Japan, especially things like train station stamp rallies. Whenever JR East runs a stamp rally for Pokemon or Gundam or whatever you'll see lots of kids with their stamp sheets on the trains. It's just a way to generate a little traffic to places where, like they said, they would probably never go to again.

The one thing I really miss about Japan is the transportation system. Bus to train, train to bus you can go anywhere! Trains are cheap, buses are cheap, even taxies. Safe, clean, comfortable. It made everything available! 😀

I like the man hole idea that's really cute. Here in Florida we have an artist who leave rocks with art on them. You pick it up and either keep it or move it some where else for someone else to find and hide or keep. Its really neat and makes you feel like your apart of something bigger. I always like things like this.

Russian tea may refer to the "Russian Caravan" tea. Atm different brands do it differently, but historically it was a tea that was delivered from China to the Russian Empire through the several-months long caravan path. And while it was travelling it was fermenting all the time and getting smoky and prune-like aroma. So atm it's produced through different fermentation methods aimed to emulate the same process and get the same flavor.

I may be wrong about Russian Tea, but my mom made it a lot growing up. It is usually powdered black tea mix, orange drink mix (in the states we used tang), cloves, cinnamon, anise and some other spices as well. It’s delicious when it’s cold out! The best part is you can mix all of the dry together (or layer it because it looks really pretty for gifting) and keep it in a air tight jar so all you have to do is add it to hot water and you get a delicious instant tea!
