A have seen a few Collibri similar, Japanese beam sensor lighters from the 1960s on sale in ebay. The battery needed is out of production but some chat rooms offer advice on alternatives. I did not know they are still being made. I also love lighters and have a modest collection! I love your channel and your reviews, my sincere thanks for sharing.

Hey bro. I watched your video and the next weekend I found an older Kreisler Light Sensor at a swap meet for $4!!! The person sold it at such a low price because neither of us could figure out how to replace the battery. Believe it or not I could find any videos on KZitem or Google. Can you help and post a battery replacement video? That would be super rad, plus can kick down a few crypto(s) of whatever floats your boat... Thanks bud,keep up the awesome work!

Very cool idea. A friend of mine got one when the first came out. We're trying to come up with a similar (but cheaper) mechanic to be able to light a cigar spill (thin cedar strip), when the spill breaks the electronic eye's path (so you could light it one-handed). Turns out this this is harder than you'd think... even on a table-top model. I've always been really impressed with this beam-sensor lighter. Very cool buy.

It sadly ran out of fuel after a nice day of use so now i have to buy a can of colibri fuel as they suggest at least. I tried my zippo butane in it and it created a surprisingly large flame for it. It seemed to already have a pretty huge flame for the lowest setting anyways. I still like it but we will see I'm curious if the fuel that came in it was colibri's or not. I think I may stick with bic lighters for more heavy use though =/

i hope they don't "lose their element" from what i hear ones that use the electric shock can break from that. I don't know what it means but I'd also guess being such a high priced classy brand that they go through a lot to make sure it doesn't break on you.

My favorite lighting instrument is my Colibri Triplex. It's considered old(er) school now, as they've tried to replace it. The newer incarnations just aren't as good. It's heavy, well-made and reliable, has a window to view your fuel level, and a cigar punch in the bottom. I paid $100 for mine. if you can find one, buy it. You won't regret it.

I got a chinese copy of this lighter. It worked great for about 9 months of intensive use but now I can't fill it ! Seems like the inlet valve is clogged. Any idea where I can find another inlet valve ? Are they all the same or is there a dozen different kind of inlet valve ? Also when I fill it, it always leaks butane on my fingers, really annoying and probably dangerous. My butane can came with a bunch of adapter and none worked ! I had to fill with the one that was most similar but not a perfect fit.

If you like the ligther enough to want to purchase a spare part for it, then I would say you should absolutely get an original! Imagibe if a copy impressed you, how you will enjoy the real deal. You also don't know what will go wrong next, even if you do find a replacement part.

Try to find a "Z-plus!" insert for Zippos. You can put it in any Zippo case and change it whenever you want.. and I have had no problems with it. Lights up every time and has a strong jetflame which can be changed in power.

i would keep the price tag to impress ,,,what kind of bat? must take a bit of juice to run the laser ,i take it the sparker is piezo electric and may not need power?
@patlucas8227
5 жыл бұрын
piezo electric lighters have no need for a battery and they are ten a penny...this is an electronic ignition lighter powered by a 1.5v cell battery...the power transfers through a fairly complicated integrated circuit which has 2 pathways..one to power the laser and its sensor and the other powers the spark...both have capacitors the larger of which stores the spark energy...no doubt your be thinking that just a 1.5 cell would make the lighter unreliable but if you were to pop your finger over the flame aperture and block the sensor i guarantee you would not try it a second time...the jolt you get is extremely unpleasant to say the least

Wow, I didn't know they filed for bankruptcy! I got a lighter back for warranty work about 2 months ago. Not a moment too soon it sounds like. (note: 1 month AFTER the repair, the metal logo plate just fell off.) I've had 3 colibri's, and for the price I paid, I've been disappointed with the quality. But I keep buying them because I get all impulse-spendy when I'm in a cigar shop, and their lighters are great eye-candy. :)

+Tru Rudboi a lot of these kinds of lighters are mass produced in china and sold to companies for rebranding. so you could see many different brands selling the same exact product. cheers edit: wanted to say it could also be a knockoff of a well known lighter..not really sure but either one is a possibility. usually it's the former explaination
