When the liner is upside down you have three colors on the liner seal. When the liner is going in they are all one color.

The video shows the same lubricant being used for all o-rings but on the Cat engines you're supposed to use a petroleum based type (i.e. engine oil) on the top and a non-petroleum-based type on the bottom (i.e. soap)

Why do you recommend petroleum based lubricant on that too black rubber seal ? My understanding is that it should only be lubricated with 50/50 water soap solution Please explain

That is ok !!! Only soap, no Grease or oil the seals expanding

Every cylinder liner having Seal O Ring while installation is wet type.

+Cedric Pineda you welcome. every dry liner also called sleeve especially in Japanese engines is much thinner as compared to wet liner. Also it has not Seal O Ring while installation. A hydraulic press must be used to press or install smoothly dry liner. Also coolant in jacket water circuit of dry liner never touched directly to absorb heat or cool down. I do work for Caterpillar and Cummins diesel engines for more than 20 years in Lahore city of Pakistan. Thanks for reading.
