This time we were in the far North West of the Lake District heading up a rather small but still very pretty Wainwright. Ling Fell is one of the outlying Wainwrights that's is only a very short simple walk. So as we were on holiday just ten minutes down the road, it seemed like the perfect time to tick it off the list.
This was the last full day of our holiday back in May so we decided to get this fell done early in the morning so we still had plenty of time left to enjoy the rest of the day. After a steep pull straight up the side of Ling Fell we soon found ourselves on top with great views North and West. There was even a very well maintained trig point on top, which is not something we were expecting.
The walk down was a nice leisurely one that didn't take too long. We were soon back at the car and ready to go and find a nice pub for lunch.
