In this video Matt Warne from Camloc Motion Control provides a brief overview of the Locking Gas Strut - Blocklift.
These locking gas strut can be stopped in any position. Fitted with a locking valve, they only allow movement when the release pin, located at the end of the rod, is depressed. This will usually be achieved by using a cable-operated release mechanism, or directly attached paddle.
Common applications locking gas struts include height and angle adjustment of seats on aircraft, buses, trains, specialist vehicles and on military vehicle seating. They are also used for providing controllable adjustment on hospital beds, physiotherapy tables and wheelchairs, as well as height risers for desks. Locking gas struts can be used on many different applications across such a wide range of industry sectors that their use is only limited by the design engineer’s imagination!
Watch the video to find out where you might use the, the advantages of this type of gas strut and environments you can find them.
