Another long one, feel free to use the chapters to navigate through each section. First section of the video discusses a variety of different figures/shapes you can use, and the later section uses all of them over a backing track. Hope you get some fun ideas out of this!

I find it difficult to believe that you are not human. In my extensive experience, I have never encountered a human being as generous, articulate, and thoughtful as you. Your passion for teaching guitar is evident in the way you break down intermediate and advanced techniques, making them appear effortless. The information you provide is invaluable to aspiring guitarists who seek to develop their own unique style rather than merely imitating others. I am certain that I will never forget your contributions, and I am deeply grateful for your assistance. Can't be any more thankful .❤😭

i'm 77 yrs old, been playing since 1959 and this dude is hands down the best I have seen or ever expect to see; unending thanks, I have subscribed and begun membership. Please mention which planet you are from, brother. Your neurological approach is fascinating, your high speed communication is dead-on and keeps one connected, alert and focused on the prize. Holy COW!

@@LoGsounds will always watch! It’s really inspiring watching you teach! And a lot of this stuff is stuff I already knew but you just add a little bit more detail and it makes other techniques that I’ve struggled with click if that makes any sense. Thank you for this channel! Keep going bud! When I'm able to spend a little extra $ will absolutely be joining your Patreon!

Took me years to figure it out because no one explained pick slanting. I only found out by going to a frank gambale master class and he pointed out that I needed to change the way I was holding the pick if I planned on incorporating sweep picking into my playing the way he uses it. So now I have two ways of holding the pick while playing which yields different set of results which gives my playing character.

You went to G I T? Hollywood? Haha! Back in late eighties early 90s Bam magazine (free) Had endless adds from bands looking for musicians, page after page guitarist looking for bands. The grunge bands lookin for guitarist Always said NO (G I T’s) LMAO. Because yng- yang malmsteen. No playing above 12th fret. Poorly misguided nirvana kids

Thank you! Is there anything you cannot play? There is one lick (frank gambale) I haven’t seen anyone play (I could be wrong. But I’ve searched frank gambale tutorials, nobody plays it except frank gambale. The video title is (Frank gambale talks about his most difficult licks, Rick beato) The lick is at(5:07 - 5:12) Five seconds. I’ve seen him play it another vid years ago) This video is not perfect example but you get idea..Sick. Like you play (Stacks three notes chords) root, 3rd 5th whatever?? Reminded of gambale lick. Very extreme

The sweep-picking technique I thought was the correct method is when you reverse the sweep you dont repeat the last note but skip to the next string and start the reverse from that. Its pretty difficult to get up to speed sweeping and not play the same note twice. I tried a long time to get it sounding right and finally got it, but once I did I was satisfied I did it and just forgot it. Mainly because its not a thing that fit my style. I`m not an ultra shredder but shred in smaller pieces to get a sense of `shred` without all that difficult technique stuff. It sounds cool yes but, also it doesnt sound natural, unless you are an ultra shredder. Thats just me

The sweep technique is whatever you want it to be. In it's purest form it's just one pick motion that takes you through multiple strings. How you apply that idea is completely up to you, The general pattern-based shapes I'm doing in this video are there just to get your feet wet with the technique and put you in a musical context. As you get comfortable, it's better for you to experiment with the technique in a way that makes sense for your style. In reality the way you use the technique will probably be wildly different than how you initially practice it, or at least that was the case for me. Regardless, having control of that type of pick motion (meaning one pick stroke that takes you through multiple strings, whether it's two strings or six) is unbelievably valuable for any genre. It is super important to always remember that while this technique is often associated with shred style guitar, It's uses are far more varied than just that sort of gimmick approach. Even simple passages that I currently play that are not flashy or shred at all are made so much easier with this technique available.
