Last week, I showed you how to start integrating hardware synths into your productions, using the External Instrument plug-in, which can configure both MIDI and Audio routings. This week, we’re going to look at a more cross-Project approach to mining our synths for great sounds, by taking our first steps into Auto Sampling. This approach captures our hardware synths one note at a time, configuring those recordings into a new Sampler Instrument, available to every project we make using Logic. I’ll show you what the Auto Sampler plug-in does, taking you through the parameters and considerations, before discussing the creative advantages of having a new sampled instrument to play with.
