This review basically explains everything that we can already see or read in its specs. What materials is the keyboard made out of? Is it heavy or light? What is the build quality? How do the keys feel? What technology is used for the keys (rubber membrane or scissor switch)?

I've had this keyboard for over one year and the tracking is horrible with multiple fingers. One finger tracks nice and fast but using two fingers is horrendous, lags like crazy! I have learned to live with it though and have adjusted to the lag but everytime (not often) i pull out my Macbook air from 2012 I'm reminded of how awful the k830 is. Why aren't there any good keyboards with trackpads out there?...annoying...

This Keyboard is overpriced and terrible. I have owned one for a couple of years (FYI I own 4 wireless keyboards at least, and they are all better than this except one I paid $5 for). Main issues ; 1)The keyboard itself is jank, feels like typing on a baking tray filled with sludge, and covered with wrinkly plastic bag. To be frank... the actual keyboard has the feel of a very cheap laptop keyboard (this is $A125 so should be better). 2) The back lighting switches off after about 5 seconds, this means if you pause to think while you are typing, even between words, you will need to press the keyboard again, which means you will then have to press del to remove the random char you just pressed since you couldnt see the keyboard in the dark... see point six for what happens if you miss the Delete key. The only way around this is to constantly be pressing since it does nothing on its own, after a while, you start doing this on normal keyboards. 3) The software is a 300MB monlith that basically does nothing (Im not going to review it now Logitech are generally good - this is not). MOST IMPORTANTLY - there is no way to program the time it auto switches off. 4) There is no ability to change the batteries.. If you run out of power, you cannot use it... "But wait" you say... just plug it in again via USB... no so fast.. not always but usually (see previous point #3) IT WONT WORK WHEN IT IS RECHARGING.. It is reasons like this that we have external batteries. Rendering the bloody thin unusable half the time, just so we can make the stupid thing 5mm thinner is a waste of time, especially when the keyboard is so god awful for typing. 5) The Function keys are remapped to functions that are not explained (for example a box with a diagonal cross through it) the usual function keys can only be used if you use the function shift "Fn" key (a new key peculiar to this keyboard) that now lives between the and the keys (unless remapped with the stupid software (grrr) BUT WAIT These keys (the thru are identified by red writing that is barely readable in the daylight, as night they are impossible to see, so even after remapping them, F3 looks like a triangle or something, and F6 looks like half a piece of paper with the bottom missing... you have to work out which is which... the red is even harder to read in the dark when the illumination IS ON!!! What a mess... its a real pain, when you are trying to do something quickly (like expand the BluRay player with F10, and end up in an awkward fight with this dumb keyboard that seems to only exist to switch off when you have finally worked out what you need from it. 6) Right Next to F12 is the "Power Down" Key, not power the Keyboard down, Power Down the PC!!. The tiny power icon (a circle with half a vertical line at the top) is in the annoyingly invisible red that this keyboard uses to denote the F key numbers, but I guess they thought they would sneak one of their unrequested default key remaps to this in that unreadable red, if you first work out it is a power symbol, you are lucky, most will simply be wondering why their PC switched off while they were trying to press delete key (It is infact the "ins" key which should not be there), but none of that will help if you press it by accident, in the dark (remember the backlight goes off after 5 seconds, and you cannot see the red writing at all... you will actually need a small light if you need to read it... which asks serious questions about the backlighting I feel. So yes, you will be typing, and suddenly the PC shuts down, for apparently no reason. This keyboard is expensive, seems like it was designed for a well appointed Media Room PC, but feels like it had no user testing (in the dark) at all. The only pro is it does last a long time on it battery (you cannot replace) (lasts about 2 weeks depending on use), which would be OK if Recharging wasnt an excercise in frustration with the software (which is probably due to be updated (yet again) Yes/No - BUT WAIT You cannot answer because the Keyboard is dead! Fortunately I have enough decent wireless Keyboards that I simply gave this away to a friend, and honestly I felt a little guilty - I probably should have just binned it. But it was too pricey and slightly better than the $10 non backlit piece of junk he was using for his Media Room.. but not much.

@@MrStringybark Good to hear. I meant every word, what is annoying is that a few of the problems could have been easy fixes... Also about 3 months after I gave it to a friend, his brother broke it plugging in the recharge (miro USB) there is no strength to it, it was simply soldered on to the PCB board. Again - this stupid thing costs $125 grr
