@@greekmaster1001 You think I make no sense because you've bought into the marketing and hype, nothing more . Fact is, animals are not made of brick, cinder blocks, steel, etc. Realistically we could kill them with sharpened plastic heads as long as we double lunged them. We could pay $4.99 for 3 but manufacturers don't want to hear that so hype the durability of the steel and titanium to help justify their price tags.. Guys like Lusk bring in views due to the sensationalism of destroying heads, that's how he makes his money from youtube. If everyone focused on the importance of shot placement we wouldn't be discussing durability, because you only need durability on marginal shots while hitting heavy bone. If you hit double lung and out into the ground every time it wouldn't matter and the $4.99 heads would be fine, right? It's all about perspective.

NAP Spitfires are all I have been using for the last 5-10 years. Don't recall a deer ever surviving one. I have had some issues with the blades not opening up as easily- but can probably be prevented with care. Had bad luck in my early days with fixed broadheads- but may give these a try.

I’m not seeing how these out penetrate a single beveled head. Also, if these are stronger than tool steels, I’d be curious to know what the Rockwell hardness scores at.
@mikeguy9668

No way they will out penetrate a single bevel head
@chrismuhlbeier6948
Жыл бұрын
Strength and hardness are 2 completely different metrics. Yes, does hardness play into toughness/strength however as a steel becomes harder to retain an edge better it will begin to decrease in strength and become more brittle. A single bevel head penetrates better because it's a 2 blade. You are forcing a smaller object though an animal. The question for the average modern hunter is how much penetration is needed. Dissipating force into the ground or the air isn't adding lethality. In my opinion, each shooter should be trying to maximize the cut size while still most likely obtaining a pass through.
@michaelcancilla9539
Жыл бұрын
@@chrismuhlbeier6948 yup, not sure why compound guys are so worried about penetration all of a sudden. 90% of setups and shots with a well tuned fixed blade are blowing through an animal regardless of 2 blade, 3 blade, or 4 blade. Doesn’t matter if it’s 12 inches in the dirt or 6 inches.
@penguinmayhem33
Жыл бұрын
@@michaelcancilla9539 I think the "all of a sudden" part came since there was a majority wave that went to expandable and replaceable blades for so long. Those didn't penetrate anywhere near comparable so now people are thinking about it more. Have you been shooting fixed blades the whole or most of the time? You might have skipped the hype and it's been obvious to you the whole time
