This was really nice to listen. Sounds awesome and your playing is amazing. I think it would be cool if you would add a second camera to show what you are doing on the looper itself instead of just a picture of it.

It's depressing listening to Cooper - he's so dang good. I wonder what guitars he owns, and how he protects them from the super-hot climate of Texas.

A total vanity video. For nearly 12 minutes it’s just a single loop - which can be done on a DD7 - and the guy just jamming; and or the two dudes talking. Pretty useless video that never answers the click bait title.

Great video and demo! You mentioned that if you have any "rhythm issues" that it is going to be very apparent. I find this with the RC 300 as well, you have to be exact to the millisecond or the whole song gets messed up. Is there a looper that is better or more flexible to use for those slight rhythm issues?

I would like to see more videos where you review electronic gear. As a consumer, it is very hard to evaluate electronics based on descriptions, and this type of video helps me make informed choices. I would love see reviews of amps, speakers, and powered mixers (as they relate to acoustic guitars).

Cooper, do you ever sing while using the looper? That might need more coordination than I have Is there a simpler looper?
@MikaelLewisify
Жыл бұрын
There are many simpler loopers. I started with the Electro Harmonix 720 and moved up to a multi channel looper recently. I’m using the Boss RC505 now. For simple single channel loopers there’s also the jam man solo, boss RC5, the TC Electronics Ditto and others.

why dont these loopers ever have a quantize feature where if you miss the start button a little it fixes it ?
@allatsea2746
Жыл бұрын
Some of them have, but I'd rather work on my timing than letting a machine analyse my playing and decide what I probably meant. Also, the very first loop is by far the hardest one. Stacking is easy, because you basically engage the record/overdub mode a little bit before the starting point of the first loop and also end the recording/overdubbing a little bit before the next turnaround. But you can easily be a beat off in both scenarios and will still be fine as the machine will align the new loop to the established grid.

@@Bflatest Yes, it has. But I mostly pre-program the different loop lenghts so that every track (except the first one of course) goes automatically into play (or overdub) mode.

Depends what you’re wanting to do. The $80 ditto is a single channel looper, so you are limited to a single song part. If you want to loop multiple song parts? The basic ditto won’t cut it.

You're right (and wrong at the same time). Everything you heard in this video you coud do with any one track (infinite overdubs) looper (and an octave pedal for the bass part). The RC-600 would be overkill for most people. Nevertheless mine will be delivered today. For me it's an upgrade. I did maybe 50 shows (I work for a cruise line) with 2 synced RC-500s and the RC-600 will give me more output options, which is nice as I'm looping guitar, vocals, a kick and a snare.

@@allatsea2746 I’m not wrong. You can’t do multiple parts (ie: chorus, verse, bridge) on a single channel looper.

Hey! You are an amazing guitar player but for this performance I'm not sure that you need this big looper (1bank is enough where you build all this good stuff). Anyway why is this better than boss RC300? I have been using it for 5 years and it never brought me down:) Sure it's good that it has more inputs but in a live situation you don't really have the possibility to record with 2 mics. It will record extra noise (twice as much). Usually I'm using optogate for even 1 mic to mute it when I'm recording just guitar sounds. I can imagine that 2 line input can help, if you wish to use keyboard and guitar. For the majority of the songs 3 bank is enough (boss rc 300 has it) and I don't think that you can use 6 loops with 2 different layers live. It's just too complicated. If you use it for pre-recorded sections it can be useful. I prefered the pedals of the rc 300 and sometimes expansion pedal can be useful aswell. Can you use different effects for different inputs? Can you use eq and compression? These things could be useful for me to be able to use different effects on guitar and voice. If I could use different eq on different xlr inputs, it could solve my biggest problem: for beatboxing I need low end frequencies but for singing it's useless (but it gives back more feedback). This way I could use a dynamic mic for (shure sm58 beta) beatboxing and condenser (shure ksm9 hypercardiod). I'm really curious about the opinion of those who used RC 300 and 600 aswell. Last time I've tried TC Helicon Voice live 3 but it was just not good for live looping...

I have a question 🙋♂️ As an example , Let’s say you have recorded guitar parts on 3 different tracks Can I turn these on and off at any time just by pressing on the main buttons at the bottom or do I have to press the track select button to move over to a specific track before I can turn it on or or off ?
@AlanThompson_music
2 жыл бұрын
In the default mode tracks 1,2 and 3 are instantly accessible and you can start/stop any of those tracks immediately (or define it so they finish at the end of their loop, if you want). You an also redefine all of the buttons so that you can run all 6 tracks from one mode, without having to switch between two banks of three tracks. Very flexible!
