"Lost in Space" was the highlight of my week when I was a kid in the 60's. And guess what? We're in the middle of a pandemic, we're all housebound, and I stay up every Saturday night to watch it on MeTV. Its the 2d season, the first in color. Last week we were introduced to the green lady floating outside the ship enticing Dr. Smith. Tonight theres an evil little robot coaxing Dr. Smith into giving up their weapons.

Sigh, I'm in Canada. I would KILL to have MeTV where I live. KILL!!! MeTV's commercials even 'FEEL' like older television; and I'm not talking about their own promos but ALL of the commercials that they show. I only get a taste of MeTV because for some weird reason, ABC-Spokane KXLY routinely plays this or Yoyage to the Bottom of the Sea at 4:00 AM Sunday mornings to - I'm guessing - as fill in. We have a single retro television station, that literally plays nothing 'retro' outside of Three's Company and All in the Family. MeTV recaptures what I used to love about TV. I wished I worked for them!

I suspect that Irwin Allen, or one of the other producers, were trying to "jazz up" the show with that new theme -- apparently the same reason for the change in uniforms, and getting the Robinsons back out into space again. But that's only a pet theory of mine -- other folks will have their own theories, naturally. Thanks. 👍🏼

Indeed. In the eighth grade, fall of 1969, as I transferred to a new school, my 'guide' was a classmate/contemporary who could have been Angela Cartwright's understudy. I was a stranger in a strange land but this young lady treated me so kindly and of course I developed an affection for her. We later dated in our junior year. Last I heard, she married and moved to the great north woods of Maine. We parted as friends yet it's been decades since we last saw each other. I often wonder how she's doing and wish her well.

However, I am afraid that I do not care for the images in the opening sequence in Season One. Season Two did not do much better either. It was the intro to Season Three that was the best as far as opening imagery goes. :-)

Imagine a Disney decide to make their own TV show of lost in space can you imagine an episode with the Robinsons? I had switched bodies in one episode, and then the end of the episode that could have Mr. Smith and the robot switch bodies. Or how bad episode where the family land on a planet where there’s talking dogs and talking cats that all walk on two legs like humans and speak like humans or how about an episode where the Robinsons shrunk and they became 5 inches tall How do you think Disney would do? A show of lost in space can you imagine episode of the young Robinson, the little boy that turn into a robot and one episode so yeah I think if Disney did the show of lost in space I think it would be a comedy

This is now being repeated by the Horror Channel in the UK (sept 2018). They have just started season 2 in colour and have updated some of the title graphics between seasons 1 and 2. The June Lockhart and Marta Kristen cartoon characters had 'breasts' in the season 1 intro but in season 2 they had the same 'uniform' as the men. Did some puritanical viewers' association in the US complain?

This opening isn't and never will be better than the current Netflix one. Don't stain other's entertainment with your misguided and silly nostalgia, if you enjoy it more than the current one then keep your opinion to yourself, but don't go talking like it's a fact, because that's impossible. Inferior recording, inferior visuals, it's an illogical competition.

You go away and watch your shitty reboot- Also if it wasn't for this show there wouldnt be a Netflix lost in space Also remember this show is from 50+ years ago so don't expect Crap loads of CGI and action Also your contradicting yourself by saying don't say the old lost in space is better as a fact when your saying the new series is better as a fact and there no competition Bit hypocritical.
