Locke’s smile at 2:15 like “you’re still just as stubborn as I remember you” but he’s still happy to see him again. It’s amazing how the actor showed that whole feeling in one facial expression. Excellent acting.

Locke's smile at 1:54 is THE most perfect culmination of his entire character journey - the moment in which despite how 'lost' he had been through his life, both before and even on the island - perhaps the most 'lost' out of all the characters - despite all that he WAS finally able to come to the realisation that, no matter what, it DID all happen for a reason, and that it was not just his life but it was the meaning and inspiration he gave to all those around him, that while he may not have lived to experience it - his faith and his belief in the island and his love for those in their community all counted in the end. It had never been all for nothing, and most importantly for him - and all the characters - he had never truly been alone...

I love that John is the one that tells Jack that he doesn't have a son, which was the hardest truth Jack needed to face before he could let go of this afterlife world and thus remember and let go, just as in the living world John was the one to tell Jack that he wasn't supposed to leave the island and that they were there for a reason.

Jack needed to reconcile with his dad whose words of judgment loomed large over Jack's life. But yeah, John was the one to deliver the left jab of truth. Kate hit him with a right hook. Christian Shepherd delivered the knock out punch.

John and Jack’s relationship is honestly one of the best I’ve seen in television, their dynamic is so interesting and unique, in the beginning of the series their constant clashes over the decisions that they should make perfectly symbolises the duel between science and faith, their opposing ideologies have always caused an argument or a certain conflict between the two, this has always caused them into being rivals or even enemies, but despite how different these two men are, you can tell that deep down they both have a strong respect between each other, especially Jack, this scene perfectly compliments their entire dynamic through the entire series, what an amazing show.

@@ericapinkston9292 Boone’s death happened for a reason, that reason is that the island demanded Boone’s death. It was a sacrifice, for John to cry and bang at the hatch door for Desmond. If Desmond didn’t hear the banging, Desmond would’ve killed himself. No one would’ve pressed the button. Everyone and everything would’ve died. That’s why Boone’s death had to happen.

I love these scenes when the survivors start remembering, they're so important to the show and the final scene in the church to convey how much they all meant to each other, beautifully done, lost did have its share of shit moments but the good parts far outweigh the bad and this show truly was something amazing. Not many tv shows can make you care so much about the actual characters and not just the events they find themselves in as lost did.

It's such a spiritual thing too: We are born, we grow and struggle and fight and mess up and falter and fail and sometimes despite ourselves succeed. Through it all, we form these powerful bonds with others who impact our lives in untold ways. And in the end, it is incumbent upon us to remember it all, cherish it, and fully let ALL of it go...the good, the bad, the ugly...the triumphs and failure, the joys and despair...ALL OF IT!

The energy of the island is the flash sideways. Miles can communicate to the death because he was born on it. Juliet said stuff in 6x01 when she died , that happen in the flash sideways. This scene is the explanation to why Locke was healed when the crash happened. Locke walked again on the island because Jack fixed him in the afterlife. This was teased by the 2x01 episode with Jack healing Sarah's legs too. Lost is a masterpiece. Even 10 years after the end you still can't believe how much deep the lore is.

Honestly, the idea of the flash sideways for the final season was genius. It's like the the perfect time to cap off the tremendous series with the memory lane. When music swells at the 1:38 and you see all those scenes from earlier seasons it reasonates with you emotionally. Because like the character you remember the journey you had. I don't think it would hit the same with people who binged. However, I am grateful that I was able to watch the show since 2004 up until 2010. And when I got to the finale it filled with me crazy feelings In short, Lost is great and the finale is great, and pisses me off to no end when some jackass puts it into their 'worst tv finales' list

My thought is Jack saw a glimpse of it, and got freaked out because if he let himself see more that was him letting go, (accepting that he’s dead) so he played it off like “see what” and then again John lock says “will you go with me” he’s saying “no we’re not going anywhere” because he’s not ready to let go yet.

Everything that happened, happened. The final season instead of flashbacks or flash forwards. They did a “flash sideways” the short answer is everything off the island in season 6 was a “purgatory” they all formed together. The after life being eternal. Time does not matter there. Some died season 1 some died way later. The most important parts of their life’s was the time they had together. No one moves on to whatever your beliefs in the after life is alone.

Locke walked on the island not because of Jack, but because of the island. What we are seeing in this scene is another "universe" where the survivors never had the accident and this time it was Dr. Jack who took care of him. Locke's legs anyway started to react quickly, after the surgery, because Lock finally remembered his experience on the island that made him walk again.
