You lucked into a good job it seems. Good equipment, seems like a good company, I remember seeing them when I use to be in Boston every other day. I worked for a fairly large const. co. in Bridgeport Ct, back in the late 70's We had about 35 tri-axles, a redi-mix division, 3 sand/stone plants, & a lot of heavy machines. Ran the low boy once in awhile. tri-axle trailer with a DM800 tri-axle tractor. Seemed like a monster to me at 23 years old. LOL

Nice work. I worked with asphalt machine moving, day and night when I was 18-19 years old. Now as I'm 22 years old, I transport concrete pipes with my 2016 scania r580 6x4 with my flatbed trailer and miss the machine moving. What's the gross weight you driving around with? Here in Norway, the max cross weight is 114 640 punds on a 3 axle tractor with 3 axle trailer. Hope to hear from you😃

Nice video, I have always been interested in driving lowbed. I currently am running a dedicated lane running hazmat tanker for a pool chemical company. Are there companies willing to train specifically for lowbed? Seems like everyone has to start somewhere. Nice rig, and the physical part of the job is appealing.

What would be the reason someone loses or has the low bed detach while driving on the middle of the highway. I have seen it happen more than once and always wonder how it could happen ?

The only way it can become detached going down the highway is simply it wasn't fully attached to begin with. Meaning the locks that go around the pin when the truck is backed into the fifth wheel aren't completely around the pin and locked.

Hey I was curious. Does having a hoisting liscense, heavy equipment experience go a long way in trucking? I have my CDL for about 4 years but ill be taking a brake to go operate heavy equipment and get my hoisting license with a trash company. I also worry if I do one thing to long ill lose credibility as a trucker for lack of recent driving.

The more licences you have the more valuable and needed you are. I don't think you lose credit for taking an operating job.
