I remember seeing her walking through the venue before their show in Melbourne when I was about 16/17. Thanks for being part of that time Miki!

Hope Miki will do some more new projects, she’s a unique musical mind and was probably more influential than she gets credit for, maybe as Gen Z picks up dreampop/ghoegaze and such, it will become clearer. Anyhow. Saw them in 2016 and it was amazing. They were so good. Really brilliant chords and arrangements. Every tune reminded me of my teens and 20s. EDIT: Aah she’s touring in the States! Chicago ☑️

Thank you for such a wonderful interview! Your questions are so insightful and interesting. I admire Miki more than I can say; I deeply respect her nuanced, balanced, fair, empathetic, and diplomatic approach. Her voice is vital within a culture that unfortunately seems to only care about harsh and polarizing binaries. She's a living legend and it's fascinating to learn about her creative process behind the scenes. ❤

I remember travelling down from Carlisle to see Lush in Manchester back in the days, my mate got his jacket signed, I remember the management saying things where gettiing bigger so they may have to change things. We had no where booked to sleep that night it was one of the coldest nights in my life sleeping outside of Manchester train station. a few years later i made friends with a cousin of their drummer down in Brighton. Many years later Ive lost touch with the cousin of the drummer.

Omg I'm so glad to listen to this interview. I really love Miki. Her ups and downs. This book really puts reality in front of what we least know when LUSH was around. Who they were as real people real experiences. Very sad hearing her voice how painful it was to cope with the shocking news of her band mate's suicide. If she writes another book, I will definitely pick it up. Thank you for posting this interview.

I like her alcoholic spirit. She used to post crazy stuff on her twitter account while drunk. Whats strange, is i always like to listen to Lush while inebriated for some reason. The word Lush is english slang for a drunk person, a 'drunkard.

Very cool. I learned about Lush very recently when watching Trash Theory. I always thought shoegaze was just a meme due to all jokes about it but Lush is definitely a great listen. So many awesome songs. Their first break-up happened before I was born though, and I never heard much about them before. Glad I discovered them, and this interview gave me lots of insight on Miki.

I don't wanna sound that I'm pandering to the Panderverse......... "Split" is such a great/Important album. it is soooooo prog, like "Pink Floyd" prog. It is the epitome of "Shoe Gazer", whether you like it nor not. Split.....is a masterpiece.....great musical layering. In my all time top 10 albums.

Yes I got Split when it was released and its quite good, turns out Starlust is my fave Lush song. I had Gala and Spooky and Sear and some others by 1994.

@@Novaheart1998 I think the "Split" version of "Starlust" sucks. It's way too raw and it falls flat on its arse. It's obvious Alan Moulder didn't put his hands on, unfortunately, contrary to the other tracks. The version on the "For Love" EP, produced by Mark Freegard is soooo much better.
