Tracey Thorn is absolutely one of the great vocalists of her generation, full stop. Her voice alone IS music to my ears 👍❤️

I’m so old that I bought Tracey’s A Distant Shore mini LP as a student and a couple of years later watched EBTG play live during the Love Not Money tour in ‘85.

*"I had a real sense of time passing." - Whew, that landed heavily within me. The depth and aching creativity never stops when you're hard-wired as a deep, reflective soul. This was food for the heart. Thank you.*

I found Tracey's book Naked at Albert Hall in the library yesterday and suddenly some memories about EBTG came back. I tried to search online about her and then I found this...this is apparently a way that the universe wants me to know they have a new album 😊

When we were growing up all the leaders died or were killed in our infancy... those that tried to rise up since got dragged back down by scandals and corruption... the beatniks, the hippies, the lobbyists, the activists, the cultural zeitgeist and social milleu never accepted their battles as either lost or won but never-ending... and as more stars filled the sky, bright but lesser lights.. until it all began to blur and losing our ability to use them to navigate. There's good music today, contrary to the many old fogies in our ranks unaware they have turned into the elders of their eras.... but it does often feel like today's culture is walking through a museum. It's everything we've seen before... just more of it. It's great you can find more of what you like but nothing new really stands out, all on its own, if you're not already interested. . . hence, geezers like us, return to the seeds of our youth to see how they've matured and bloomed.

Two of the most talented, extremely emotionally intelligent musicians - they blend and always have - I’ve watched them from the early nineties until today - they are an amalgam musically - probably amazing parents to their children as well - they seem like they are just really cool people.🇨🇦🍁🇦🇺🦘🇬🇧💂
