She should enjoy it. She was his greatest influence and he’s said so himself. She loved him as much as he loved her. Even his unique style, the way he cruises through the octaves, the pauses, were clearly influenced by Dionne. Listen to their duet “ How many times can we say goodbye “. You’ll see what I mean.

When I watch this, I almost tear up. You can see how touched Dionne is. And watching her, all I can see is how I imagine Whitney would have been when she was older 🥰

After she heard him sing, she told him "You sure CAN sing!" She is totally smitten by his vocals. I love all the audience's reaction. My cousin met him backstage after a concert and said they had a lot of "kee kees" together. A real talent who is truly missed.

My college roommate, back in the 80's, stated that this was his closing song. If she still had her clothes on after this one, she was not worth pursuing....RIP Luther!
