No doubt about Mach.. dude is different. I remember Ransom saying there were dudes that could out rap him but just couldn’t rap the way he raps. When I hear Mach I think of that statement. He’s that guy that if you said rap he could do it at the drop of a dime. With that said I still gotta go with Ran based on the endless jewels and for turning what seems to be so simple into something so deep. Matter of opinion of course but you know I respect your taste to the fullest.

One of the best yes but not the best in the world not better than Nas and black thought, Lupe Fiasco
@BSideRapReviews

@@jayeljh6638 I’d put all 3 above Mach all time. Nas is #1, black thought is 5 or 6 and Lu is top 20ish. But bar for bar, at the moment (so not factoring in non recent stuff) I got Mach clearing all 3. As far as technical rapping - rhyme structure, wordplay, meter, etc - he got Nas beat by a solid margin imo. Nas got him in storytelling tho. I think black thought has a very similar skill set as Mach but even though it’s close, I’d say Mach got the edge too. Lupe is hardest to compare cus his biggest strength is his wordplay and extended metaphors which is a completely different bag than what Mach gets into so it’s like apples to oranges. So that’s my take

Speaking of dudes on Aethiopes, I realized Breeze Brewin’ has one of my favorite verses on a song off Aes’s None Shall Pass. The song he’s sampling is “Да”/“Yes” by Alla Pugachova. She’s a mega famous pop singer from the 80s/90s in Russia. She’s still alive but I don’t think she’s putting out new music, she’s just one of those celebrities that pops out on a talk show on occasion. @BSideRapReviews
Жыл бұрын
Preciate that bro!! Ay I can't even lie to you....you don't want to hear me review Iron Bull 😂😂 I thought it was bad. I'm not a fan of him in general, but I don't even think it was as good as his joint from January or his joint with Jay Nice from last year. So for me, I've been pretty consistent in saying that if you're gonna be in this lane of hip hop where you rap over very minimalistic, lo fi beats with basically no song structure...being a "good" rapper isn't going to cut it. You have to be really sharp with your pen, because there's literally nothing else to draw in the listener. Even if the beat is good, if it has a simple loop - that's prob not enough to keep your attention for a whole 3 min track. That's why I don't really like projects from guys like Flee Lord, Daniel Son, etc b/c even tho they're pretty good, I don't think they're good enough to sustain a whole project. They're better as features to me. Now getting back to Fah, the issue is he's not even as good as lyricist as those guys. Like on Iron Bull there's a lot of elementary one syllable AABB rhyming, his flows get choppy at times, and he says wayyy too many metaphors are either flat out bad or mindnumbingly simple. Like he'll say bars that I would bash even a radio rapper for saying. So that's my rationale, cus I try not to just say something is bad without giving it justification.

The other dude mentioned 'Dumpacalypse Now', but personally, I think 'Dump Life' is better - particularly the last few tracks where everybody just flips and the beats are crazy. That's prime Fahim too, I think. For a single by Lefty X Fahim, check 'DB Cooper' or 'Hard Four 2' for a little taste. His two EP's are 'Go Left!' and 'Left Lane OG'. You'd enjoy both. Personally, It would bring a massive smile to my face if you were to go back and review his 'Go Left!' EP. Think it would you make you smile too. That and 'Dump Life' are crazy man. GAT’s his magnum opus - it’s gon be extremely hard for him to make another gat…even if he’s at his absolute best. I think he can def make something as good as luh hertz though. I personally think Mach’s hard and pray for Haiti are better. The thing with Mach is he’s dropping a lot of short EPs and joint projects. Like he hasn’t had a true solo project since Balens Cho so it’s gonna be hard for him to recreate his best work when he’s only on 50% of the album. When he turns it on I’m hopeful he can create something really special but that could just be the optimist in me.

Absolutely love the production - Craven is phenomenal. I think it’s prob one of the best Fah’s I’ve heard outside of Wide Berth. I think Fah in general sounds better on solo stuff than when he collabs with Mach or Droog. I still don’t think the rapping is great but it’s fine. I think ppl think I go hard against Fah so I’ll kinda explain in depth where I’m coming from (even though you didn’t ask lmao) So the thing is, if you’re going to rap over minimal beats, drumless sample loops, and rap with little song structure, you HAVE to rap great. If you don’t, the beats are too understated to carry the project and it starts to sound boring. There are several rappers who I think are good that don’t make great projects imo because they’re good rappers and not great rappers…ie: Daniel son, flee lord, El Camino, etc. Now the the issue with Fah is he’s not even as good as any of those 3. His lyricism isn’t where there’s is, he can get choppy with his flows, he’s pretty monotone, and then - while it’s not the case on shot clock king - he has these complete landmines of awful lines. Like he says lines I would clown mainstream rappers like Lil Yachty for saying. Like he says lines that make me want to cut the whole album off. I genuinely think people just like him cus hes associate with Mach. I just don’t understand how so many people can understand the appeal of Mach or Droog and then think Fah is on the same level. So yeah that’s my unwarranted take lol

I didn’t diss him this vid….but I’m not above dissing Fahim at all lmaoo. He’s flat out bad at times and has drug down a number of Mach projects (ie Hommy edition or DM2). Like if I woulda reviewed iron bull it woulda been a blood bath 😂😂. But I always try to call it down the middle and he had a really good performance here
