I have a nice toolpost grinder for these work hardened jobs, but I have never used it because I really do not like the abrasive dust it produces getting on the slides, even with tissue covering everything there is always dust that gets under the covers, we had an old Lathe at work for such jobs! Stay safe! Chris B.

Hi Chris. thanks for the comment. I agree with you about getting grinding dust into the slides etc. Where abouts are you? Maybe one day, I might pop down for a visit. cheers, Fraser.

@@MetalworkinginFrance-xe5rg We are just south of Cahors. I often see youtubers using a grinding attachment on their Lathe, a lot of them on the videos from India, I think they are using handed down machines that have already worked for a lifetime, but they will not survive much longer with the treatment they are getting now.I have just covered my Beavermill up as it is very humid here! Putting that heavy tailstock on the floor, bad idea, should have a workspace where it can be stored temporarely, camera needs a third hand ...

Hi, thanks for the comments. Yes, nice idea to have an area for temporary storage, but I only have limited space in a small workshop so temporary storage isn't an option.
