no heavier roller are not for more top speed... its all about proper tune. sometime heavier roller can make you go slower if you didnt tune it properly. a properly balanced cvt will both give betetr acceleration AND better top speed. there is no " heavier for that, lighter for that ". when playing with roller, you must have contra springs too. and as usual skip the malossi white. its softer than original on ALL engine even for 2broke ( 2 stroke 🤢). those engine, without bbk, can handle 10k rpm all day long no problem. these cheap crank are MADE for 72cc bbk, so yeah they handle 10k rpm STOCK very fine. thing is its a waste. in stock form ( without bbk, without A9 cam, without port&polish, without titanium valve spring and so on ) the peak torque is around 6800 rpm and peak power is around 7600 rpm. that means running at 10k rpm will hurt top speed by alot if the road is not flat and level. but they can do it fine. when you get a 47mm bbk and A9 cam together, NEVER go over 7800k rpm. N E V E R. the crank is made to handle this 47mm bbk at 7800rpm no more. the naraku hd crank can handle 10k rpm with a 50mm bbk fine. it can even handle 52mm bbk for about 8-12k km. yeah its alot but this is what Naraku quality means.

This is great info, makes me think i might need to switch to 4.5 gram rollers for this hilly part of Tennessee.

Ya I said in the video I liked the 5 grams... but now rethinking that. Those 4 grams made RPM. 4.5 may be perfect

I’m confused on something is the power band on a 50cc 150cc and 232cc the same like should you be aiming for 8000 rpms on all of these engines or higher on bigger motors like the 232. I have a 232 and I set my rpms at or around 8500 rpms top speed is around 86 I hope you understand what I’m talking about Thanks

I think they are. I am just guessing as I really can't find any dyno runs with curves on these things... but looking at GET 50s and Grom 150s it seems to peak about 8500. I would guess a 50 was higher like 9k and the bigger 180 to 232 might be lower, but who knows. I strive for 8500 with my 171cc also.

Thank you for these videos. bro try the sliders they really are better and way more durable then rollers in the future. I know you have a legendairy method and tuning with rollers

Question if you change the spring in the clutch or the spring behind the clutch will the motor get more power to move that clutch. To make more power to the back wheel axle gears? Btw love your videos keep up the great work
@GhettoWrench

Thanks. And no more power can be made in the transmission... it is just where and when you use the power. So heaver clutch shoe springs will take more spinning speed or RPM of the CVT and the engine to open. When they finally open the clutch will engage the rear wheel and the bike will take off. Since you are at a higher RPM and making more power it will take off faster and be quicker. Top speed will not change but acceleration will be better. So what is the downside? It is more annoying to drive for just cruising in traffic as it does not take off until the engine is at a high RPM. It will wear the clutch out faster as it is trying to engage at a must faster speed. Like doing a burnout with your tire will wear your tires down faster. It also creates a lot more heat if you start and stop alot. The big spring or contra spring tries to prevent the clutch plates from spreading apart and letting the belt slide down into high gear. The heavier the spring the more it resists. The downside is the bike may not ever get to top speed. The upside is it does not shift up as quick so it makes it stay higher RPM longer and feels more peppy. Like leaving your car in 1st or 2nd gear. When you get on the gas it goes as it is already in the power band.

@@GhettoWrenchthanks for the info I just was watching and thinking that it might help low and top. Thanks again keep up the great videos. Can't wait to see what you do to the white. 50 cc do you think it's better to get the 50cc or the 150cc?

@justindawalga7456 The 150 is way more bang for the buck... but u usually need a motorcycle license and some states require insurance etc. The 50 is funner to modify and work on cause it is so slow.. LOL
