This was a fun class a couple of weeks ago. I hope you do some more in the future!

I made designed and wired up my pedalboard about four years ago. I've made every mistake you listed today, and after getting all the problems sorted, I can say my rig has been going strong ever since. I've never had a cable fail after playing more gigs than I can remember.

Im so glad to hear I'm not the only one making those mistakes...although I feel bad for you as I know those mistakes are so frustrating in the moment!

Thanks for this; you had some great tips (cable and advice). One question though, if making a permanently set board and you want your cables cut to length, is the aforementioned looping of the cable going to allow for clean cable runs, or is there better practice on a board where things won't be moving around and you don't want any extra slack?

That's why we started 'looping'... you get clean cable runs and the slack needed. Check out our insta... we do this all the time on our setups and it looks great.

I’m just curious what size soldering tip (mm) and solder (.050 vs .032) you’re using? And do you use that same setup with your DC plugs too?
@GoodwoodAudio
Жыл бұрын
0.8mm chisel tip and for DC I'd use the 0.032... for 1/4" plugs, I use 0.05. Anything small (midi, 1/8", DC I use 0.032)

I just got a 3 pack of those cutters…lol. Hakko 951 is awesome soldering station. I’ve had it for 11 years and zero problems. Heats up in a flash and tips last a very very long time
