Always impressed with your productions! Your songs never sound predictable to me, there's always something fresh in your melodies/harmonies. Like this piano part you're featuring here has a fresh rhythm... And your chops are always crazy good, wish I was an intern at your studio lol.

Ariel Heartheat thank you! I got that comment a lot on vocal chops and it’s really just about messing around with something until it’s cool. I think with this demo, there were two versions before it that weren’t any good at all haha

Hey man, can I ask why you placed the reverb after the sidechain?
@alexiataylor1476

Hi! Why are you not using buses for the reverb and compressor on the piano layers? Even if they are stacked?
@EchoSoundWorks
4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Short answer, like how it sounded. Long answer, it's an absolute myth that you have to buss effects like compressors and reverbs. You can do it either way, many successful mixes have done both. I tend to not buss if I'm using compression or reverb as a part of the sound design process, I usually only use sends for mixing to make the mix more cohesive. Logic also can't bounce in place sends, so If I am doing sound design and want to bake the compression into the sound and then process further, I need it on the channel.

Hi there, very interesting subject ! I am beginner at mixing and I have a quick question please, is it the same midi file played by the three pianos (copy paste) ? Or are there very small differences (in timing or velocity for example). If yes, wouldn’t be easy to have one midi file on a track (with no sound) and send those it into 3 tracks with only VST on ? If no, I think we need 3 midi files, Thanks

Great tips Shane!! :) Umm, I need some help with drum arrangements to make them sound authentic. Can I get some help with that?
@EchoSoundWorks

Sanjay Sharma hey thanks! Do you mean like programming acoustic sounding drums or just making any drum beat sound more realistic?
@sanzay.
5 жыл бұрын
@@EchoSoundWorks Actually, I need help on both the topics but more importantly: "Programming the drum beats." Like I have been trying to produce a song using the Havana pack and other samples for about the last 6 months, but my drum programming gets messed up every time. At times it sounds off and other times it gets too robotic and repeating... I am sure you have come across such a frustrating situation and found your way out of it. So, I hope you could help with some tips or sources of information that helps me out of this drum programming (beat arrangement) problem. Thanks!

Yes. Some of the Logic plugins like the stock EQ have a button called "processing" Click on the and it gives you the option to just EQ the "left" "right" "mid" or "side".

@@EchoSoundWorks it triggers my PTSD from the hours and days of messing around with compressors learning how they work this was before the internet so unless you went to school for music production or knew someone all learning was hands on and information was scarce
