Hi Sayanee, I liked your overview. We have a basic datalogger running on MKR 1010, my first Arduino project. Polishing it while up leveling our dev process. Makefiles make a lot of sense as part of that.

Nice overview! I’ll watch any video that starts with “I love Makefiles”. I share your appreciation that arduino-cli is available now as it opens up command line use more. I’m also working on an adafruit nrf52 board and my Makefile is shockingly similar. I have seen some info on platfiormio to the same effect and I’m curious if you’ve had any experience with it to contrast arduino-cli.

Yes, I know platform IO is another very popular alternative. Honestly, I tried it a few years back and never again. Never really felt the need to especially after arduino-cli. Learning to balance my time in learning something new vs using something I already know 😅Always a challenge in engineering! Maybe I'll look into it again!

@8:40 I'm using same board. But now I upload code in it using Arduino IDE, it works till I interuppt it by either pressing reset push button or starting serial monitor. As soon I do that it goes in Red led dimmer loop again and again. Need to re-upload code to make it work. Have you any knowledge about what could cause this? The same code works on other Bluefruit Controller? If you know something to fix this please tell me, without serial monitor its hard to debug codes. thank you

I am using windows10. I cannot access that same cmd line that you show in 2.20min. I downloaded from GitHub , unzipped the arduino-cli and cpp-lint, but now I don't know how to install them. Can you help me?

Seems like you can do so with pip: github.com/cpplint/cpplint#installation Install pip Python Package manager on Windows first: pip.pypa.io/en/stable/installation/

Any text editor actually, so it doesn't matter. I was using VS Code.
