Sam shows his process for turning a threaded insert that will be glued into the opening of a hollow form. In this video the insert is made from cast resin. (Many species of wood are NOT suitable for chasing threads with hand tools), It is common practice to make a threaded insert from a dense, hard wood that will accept a good thread. Sam explains there are other, suitable alternatives.
