I know you're just joking but for anyone curious about the actual ratio it's closer to 90% (by volume). Hexagonally packed circles cover about 90.69% of an area. The exact formula (assuming no squishing of the wood) to calculate the fraction of circles within a given area is: (π√3)/6 ≈ 0.9096 With the wood being squished together, I'd guess the board is likely closer to 95% wood.

Titebond II works differently from TBIII -- TBII works by releasing moisture TO the air to cure. As a result, I've found it doesn't appear to work too well in humid areas (like Florida, where I am, with humidity rarely less than 60% -- assume Texas, Louisiana, and some other similar areas have the same issues). TBIII, though, works by absorbing moisture FROM the air, and it foams as it does so. Hence the oversqueeze is mildly problematic, as it bubbles up and has to be cleaned off of any exposed areas. But it does work markedly better in humid climates, setting quite rapidly.

Ended up using 4,500+ full skewers, each cut into 5 pieces, for a total of 22,000+ pieces. Took several weeks to get it all done, but totally worth it. Looks great, very solid. Would recommend that if you do this that you use thick skewers, and more glue than you think. It was a little bit flexible before I put the edging on.

Don't know if I want particles of glue in everything I cut. Also, bamboo is known for being bad cutting board material. The microscopic straw like holes through the bamboo long ways makes it easy for food particles to get jammed in and mold after a while.
