Thanks Raduka! I just finished making my bow!!! Your video was a ton of help, the only problem I had was finding aluminum for the cams and some cross country skis. Instead I used birch wood at about 3/4 inch thick for the cams and the back ends of some downhill skis for the limbs. It works great and the bow is awesome looking and shoots great!
@toxic5000

Hi! Can you please send a photo of your bow cams? Isn't 3/4 inch too thick to fit inside the ski limbs? (because there are 2 cams one on top of the other - the big and the small one).

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzitem.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Finally a project which can be made WITHOUT a lathe, etc, etc, but with tools the average everyday guy has in his garage. Thank You. An absolutely excellent build and is the way I prefer to slap things together, and since I have a beautiful piece of 'African Ironwood' I have finally found a project worthy of devoting it to. Since I don't know what information you are able to release I'm in the process of determining the cams measurements by "guesstimating" the size of the bolt holes and then scaling the cams from that. So now I'm off to the attic to dig out my old nordic and downhill skis to see which ones I'm going to sacrifice, but most likely the downhills since it's starting to take too long to get back up any more but at least with the X-Country skis I can't fall down any faster than I shuffle along. Few techniques I will do differently, but hey that is what makes each build special. Once again thank you for sharing and especially by showing a project such as this can be done with a couple of hundred bucks of tools from Harbor Freight or Home Depot.

Dude! Way impressive! Absolute superior build design and construction quality compared to anything else iv'e seen on the other YT videos. You could very well make and sell these if you had access to a bulk quantity of scrap materials [old skis, wood,etc.]. And it has a decent draw weight. 55 lbs. is enough to kill a deer in the hands of a experienced hunter. You could also offer a variety of different color or finish options [gunmetal,flat black,tan and greenish camo patterns].

With all the respect I think its not so much about being talented but about practice makes perfect. I don't think you need special talent to use the tools he does. +Andre Daoust Exactly. I don't have the amazing determination as he does I would probably become frustrated very fast. With the tools he has, I probably wouldn't have enough patience to get the job done. He has such great perseverance so it seems to be no problem for him. But if I had to, I probably could get it done even though it would take a lot longer to finish than for him. Lol how did I know someone would take my comment as an offense even though it definitely wasn't?
