That is so beautiful! The mammoth tusk. Wow. When I was like 8 my dad and I were on the Tanana River in Alaska going for our moose for the year. We got out and investigated some tracks on the river bank, went in a little further and there was a small depression where the river when it was higher had cleared out a lot of debris, dirt etc. I found- you guessed it. Mammoth tusk abd bone!

I don't love shiny knives so this was a natural selection for me! You are right the we stand in a small group of people that think the same!

came here from Tyrell Knifeworks dagger challenge. I love the handle and scabbard. When you are done releasing the build videos please build a play list, it makes it easer to watch the whole build.

Fabulous work! I can say, if it were in a contest and if everyone were asked after the fact which blade would have been the most intimidating blade if it were pulled on them in a dark alley, I'm positive that Yours would win hands down! Not only would it be the shape of the blade but also the length! that is one long dagger, and a seriously intimidating one at that! The Mammoth Ivory handle is beautiful and I'm sure you'll be glad to have that work of art hanging on display in your home! The dying of the Curly maple I think was a mistake, the handle of the dagger is beautifully white and having a curly maple sheath would have only complimented the handle, but either way, the wood sheath is fantastic as well, and the way you made the belt loop for it and attached it to the sheath is beautiful as well. Good luck on the challenge!

Thank you! I agree 100% about the maple and that was my original intention but when I oiled it it turned yellow. I sanded it back and tried to use shellac and it turned yellow, I sanded it back and tried lacquer and it also turned yellow. It just would stay the right color and I felt that the black was better than the yellow
