I bought a cheap anvil from Harbor Freight and needed a stand in order to use it properly. I’ve been searching for the perfect stump with no luck, so I decided to make one from scratch. I used 2X4’s measured out to support the anvil at the correct height for me. After adding a larger base with a couple of legs which prevent tipping, the stand works perfect with minimal wobble and movement.
This anvil stand is perfect for my setup because it’s light enough for me to move it in and out of my shed. Having a mobile anvil is perfect for the backyard blacksmith.
