Thanks for the video! I found that, when rolling the dough pieces out, they kept wanting to shrink back. So after rolling it out to the length I wanted, I pressed each end down onto the counter to kind of anchor it down at full length. Leave it like that while repeating with another 6-8 pieces. At that point, the first ones should hold their length better with less shrinkage, making it easier to form the final pretzel.

I have just made these. They taste wonderful. It is with great success and everyone says it is like store bought quality. thank you Amy for the clear and simple instructions and sharing the recipes. I have also tried a few more of your recipes like the sourdough discard Pancake as well as Sourdough Crepe. Love all your recipes. Please keep it going.

Searched through so many sourdough pretzel videos....yours is definitely the one to follow....alot of the others don’t seem right for various reasons , I’m sure they’re great but u seem to really know your stuff regarding sourdough 😊

If you are a salt fanatic like I am, might try Maldon salt avail on amazon. Unlike Wal-Mart salt, you can actually taste it. Jesus said, Salt is good !!!

Thank you Amy for sharing on KZitem. Your ease of presentation helps me to overcome my fear of trying a new project. Curious though: Are you sure you didn’t use baking powder instead of soda in the water?-because that container looked an awful lot like what baking powder comes in, and it has a metallic taste.

Hi Amy! I love this sourdough pretzel recipe and want to share it with my family who are coming in from out of town for Thanksgiving. I’d like to make them ahead of time and freeze them until I am ready to serve. How do you suggest freezing? Bake first or freeze the dough after the water bath? How do you suggest baking after freezing? Thanks!

First time trying! But my pretzels did not get color like yours. I did do the egg wash so I am not sure what I can do differently. Thoughts?

It looks like you used baking powder in the video but you said (and this recipe states) baking soda. I used baking soda as your recipe called for. Would baking powder have given a different result?

I’ve found that they last about a week on the counter. Long term storage, I’d stick to freezing them. Not sure but I don’t think the fridge would be too kind on them 🤷♀️ that’s what’s worked for me

Peter Michalakoive used thinned out maple syrup. Look for vegan egg wash and you may find something that works for you

Lindsay Anderson mine too, but not as sticky as yours from the sounds of it. I just kneaded a little flour at time until it was workable.

Hello - I used the same piece of parchment paper when I removed the pretzels from the bath and went into the oven after the glaze etc. The pretzels stuck to the parchment paper. Any advice on how to prevent this next time? Thanks

Try the silicone sheets that fit inside your cookie sheets. I use them for everything. They're amazing.

I did something g wrong my dough was way to elastic. I could not roll out the dough … I made 5 then gave up.
