Admire your skills and confidence to do stuff like this, overcoming problems, finding solutions. A reminder that there's a huge well of technical knowledge, inventiveness and engineering ability out there in younger people - as well as support and interest in such a project from others. And of course, a huge source of interesting and flexible tech out there in the market to do this kind of work. It's really nice that this old girl will look stock outside, even if it's a lot more 'interesting' under the hood.

Don't use Krylon or regular rust oleum paint anywhere near a car. I have in the past, several times, and any time brake fluid or gas or oil comes in contact it falls straight off. Get the stuff made for engine bays. Spray can engine enamel is like $1 more and it does still marr/discolor a bit when you poor gas/brake fluid on it, but holds up against car fluids pretty well. Doesn't just fall off. Miles better than regular paint. Its the perfect middle ground between crap paint and a proper spray job.
