I like how you let the kids learn the skill. If we don’t pass the knowledge down to the next generations it’s lost. Many kids think that the meat is made in the grocery store.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It’s a family effort processing our meat. The kids are old enough now and been doing it so long, they can do their own deer.

grind that a second time through the same plate and it mixes up twice as good. I just did 24 lbs venison to 6 lb bacon ends and pieces. amazing.

That’s exactly how processing a deer should be…..get the whole family involved. We never look at it as a chore. It’s part of the whole deer hunting experience and is enjoyable and not a dreaded chore. And you end up with quality meat that you know exactly what’s in it. Good job.

???I got 92 pounds of venison off 1 Doe. Several whitetail were 80lbs meat. But i see You got 72 pounds of deer burger!! plus the roasts snd steaks,,well that is a Nice Supply!! Ohio deer eat a lot of corn and soybeans and I always "wack"(harvest/kill) the biggest Doe possible for first deer. Then "take out" a regular 50-60 pounds of meat deer. But I'm only one that eats it. I have given a couple few pounds to my 80yr+ Old Dad to make chili but Momma has a FIT and wont eat it. High Five to Both Young Hunterz for contributing to the Freezer meat🙏🏼

I need to buy me a dedicated meat grinder. My KitchenAid Mixer and grinder attachment works great, just getting old. I usually grind mine at 10% fat (9 lbs. venison with 1 lb. bacon) Thanks for your video! Looks Great!

Now is that from the 4 deer that was harvested??? And did you put that meat on a scale ???
@MountainMenOutdoors
8 ай бұрын
Yeah it was from 4 separate deer. It was not 4 whole deer though. Some of the meat went to roast and steaks. Also yes it was weighed on scales

Can you use fresh pork belly instead of cured bacon ends? How would that change the mixture?
@MountainMenOutdoors
3 ай бұрын
You sure can! It would change the flavor but still be very good burger. I wouldn’t change the mixture much.

Awesome that there is a healthy amount of deer burger. Like watching how to process deer always like learning new tricks. What all do you use as grinding meat for your burgers other then hind quarters??

justin aleman we use the scrappiest parts of the shoulders. We also cut what we can off of the ribs and brisket for burger meat.
