Even though the Manson women committed horrible crimes, I'm glad they have changed for the better while in prison. In fact, seeing how productive and normal they are even though they've been incarcerated most of their lives makes it all the more tragic that they hooked up with that Charlie Manson. Imagine how different their lives might have been if they hadn't?

Have you ever seen the crime scene/morgue photos? They are so bad, that I was kept up at night by the horror of the way the victims looked. Abigail Folger was so cut up, her face was like a Halloween mask. They even stabbed her in the mouth, and the back of her head. I understand how you feel, but is death really a punishment? After sticking the needle in someone... poof they are gone and who knows if there is an afterlife. I think the Manson family have received the worst possible punishment. Life in prison with parole hearings every few years. Life in prison must not be that good or Patricia, Susan and Leslie wouldn't have tried so hard to get out. Also no parole board ever had any intention of giving these people parole as they were only having the hearing as a matter of formality. Having the carrot of freedom dangled in front of them every few years is probably a worse torture. And don't be so sure that Manson enjoys prison. He is probably living his own private hell. I don't think that there is any legal punishment that would fit their crimes. Karma and universal justice will do that.

She needs to stay in prison for the rest of her life. And, even that is not enough justice. On the day that Abigail Folger is able to get up, walk out of her grave and resume her life as it was when she was 25 on August 9, 1969, on that day and that day only, then Patricia could ask for parole and maybe get it. But as long as Abigail is still in her grave, then Patricia needs to remain in prison. Until Patricia dies. Period.

How does committing murder which is what happens when a prisoner is executed make justice. All we are doing is the same thing the killer did: punishing innocent people like the killer's children and other relatives. We coldly execute without regard for the innocent. Isn't that what the killer does?? Besides, it is a far greater punishment for one to spend the rest of her/his life in prison. I know of what I speak: my sister's killer has been in prison since 1974.

Always the same cliche! What if they had killed your loved ones, would you be asking for parole for them? Well of course not. Because emotion would not allow me. But you don't make justice through emotion. You make justice by exercizing reason. Emotion is the reason for justice but it is not the tool for it. If they kill your loved ones that completely unqualify you to be a judge in the case. Emotion will NOT LET YOU BE FAIR. Freedom for Krenwinkel in the name of justice.

Agreed. I think even she thinks she should stay where she is. She's doing the best she can to make amends and do penance for what she did. The ways of God are unknown. This crime would seem to be irredeemable, and even I at times feel that there are some crimes God won't forgive even if you are genuinely sorry. But I may be wrong. I hope I am. The power of God and good are unconquerable, and a story like this shows how even hardened hearts can be softened. It's a very positive story..

@StaunchComic I have never talked about mercy. I don't care about mercy. I'm talking about justice. That her life was spared and that that should be her perole is a wrongly conceptualized cliche. The truh is that being brainwashed she should not have been condemned to death in the first place. Acording to your last statement everyone in the world should be in prison for everyone can potencialy be brainwashed. In fact, not her, because she already was and is now supraconcious.

There's not a hell. There's not a heaven either. There's this life, where we are responsible for making the best of it, then we cease to exist. I'm glad she's doing something useful with her time.

@elsuperbrain Actually A friend of mine Norma Jean Almodovar who wrote the best seller "A cop to a call girl" went to jail for pandering for 3 years and she got to know all 3 Manson killers. NJA said that everyone hated Atkins even her former family members & Atkins was a nut and needed to stay in jail. But she said that Krenwinkel was very popular with other inmates who called her Krenie. And she liked Lesley also. They should get paroled when all their victims rise from their graves. NEVER! :(

The only reason Pat & Leslie despised Atkins so much is because it was she who bragged of the murders Tate/Labianca. Whilst being held on other charges, ultimately getting them all sentenced to death but obviously that was commuted to a life term

By your logic, the legal system should re- val all the life sentences in the US prison system...compare them to the Iraq war and release/retain them based on whether their crime was judged to be worse than whatever is going on in the war at a given moment. Now...are we just going to use the Iraq war as the "gold standard" or should we include the Afghanistan war also...what about all the past wars? You sound like a nut.

Someone above in the comments asked, "Who the hell am I? Am I a victim of crime?" Yes, my sister Jamie Grissim is a famous case on google/internet. Look it up. I lost my only family, my sister, as we grew up in foster homes. I forgave her killer. I don't want him executed. I don't want another murder committed to somehow make up for my sister's murder. It would NEVER bring her back and only bring more suffering to his family. Enough with the suffering.
