Awesome korero - I'm a 2nd language Maori speaker and somehow, for some reason I often find the old school native speakers relatively easy to understand. It's not only the kupu and phrases they used but also the rhythm and cadence of their speech just lends itself to being understood clearly. Ka mau te wehi!
