Today I’ll be sharing an easy recipe for Ma Po tofu. This is a popular Sichuan Chinese dish. The sauce is spicy, savoury, sweet and tangy, which pairs very well with tofu. So today I want to share a recipe that you can easily make it at home and taste just like those served at the restaurant.
Ingredients 材料:
100 grams minced pork/chicken 100克猪肉碎/鸡肉碎
4 cloves garlic, minced 3-4 瓣大蒜,切碎
2 packets 600g +/- Japanese pressed tofu/smooth tofu 2 包 600 克 +/- 日式板豆腐/滑豆腐
2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil 2-3汤匙植物油
2 spring onion 2 条葱
Seasoning 调味料:
2 tbsp chilli bean sauce/toban-djan 2汤匙豆瓣酱
2 tablespoon chilli oil 2 汤匙 辣椒油
1 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorn, toasted and crushed 1 茶匙 花椒炒香并压碎
1 piece fermented beancurd, fuyu 1块腐乳
1 tablespoon light soy sauce 1 汤匙 生抽
pinch of brown sugar 少许红糖
