I Love Marc and wish I could meet him but I am kinda poor and old now being a grandfather of 7 and can't spend there inheritance on travel least it consumes what I saved for the little ones . Marc was born in a time when there was still respect when a woman did not rule over a man but the so called Eletists have ruined the world with their think tanks and how they will make all serve themselves instead of God. God bless you Marc Farber. 👍✝️🥲✌️

Marc imparts great political and financial wisdom. On geopolitics, though, I would argue that we don't need a State Dept conspiracy to explain political and social unrest leading to kinetic wars on the periphery. The West's US$-centric policy in combination with China's mercantilist policies and India's educated labor force has impoverished the developing world, which cannot compete to sell its product or service its US$ denominated debt. They are being starved of export markets and capital inflows at the same time. This is what leads to social and political crises that lead to wars and refugee crises. The State Dept doesn't have to engineer these, just lets them happen to ensure US hegemony in competition with potential rivals. In the meantime, China is attempting to become the feudal lord over commodity-rich countries in the developing world with their Belt and Road initiatives. It's not a stable world.

Marc Faber is always great to listen to, a lot of historical economic knowledge to learn from. Just checking the stock market's and gold's returns since 1970. Gold has done nicely since 1970(starting at $35 per ounce), 60-fold. But, the S and P 500 since that same year has gone up 220-fold, if dividends are reinvested. Both of these figures are gross/nominal increases.

Good interview but I would disagree with any theory suggesting Canada would send gold to Ukraine. Weapon systems maybe, but not gold. In fact, Ukraine sent all their gold to New York to ensure it would not be seized by Moscow at any point. If Faber is merely suggesting that gold has some strong tailwinds due to geopolitical instabillity, I would certainly agree. The central bank for BRICS, New Development Bank is currently in roundtable discussions for creating a commodity backed currency; an event that I imagine would generate a significant increase in demand for precious metals such as gold.

Marc Faber's wide economic overview is as refreshing as his libertarianism which contrasts so strikingly with the collectivist, authoritarian ideology infecting so many sectors of society. Marc's credibility is heightened by his profound economic historical analyses of the effects of inordinate debt and reactionary central bank money-printing that leads to high inflation and societal problems. Having followed Marc for many years I wish he would stop smoking, having survived potential motorbike accidents and the plandemic!. 🚭

An inflation target of 2% means that the central bank has made it its mission to devalue your financial assets in real terms once after 35 years and three times after 70 years. 1.02^35 = 2 - 1 = 1 x real expropriated 1.02^70 = 4 - 1 = 3 x real expropriated

Marc does his best to hammer home the point that real value is different than nominal value. The government authorities use currency manipulation through depreciation and inflation to create money illusion that saps wealth from the population without provoking political resistance. Inflation is a hidden tax on wealth. And Marc further clarifies what real value is: it's not monetary value. Money is merely a proxy for real value (distorted by money illusion); the real value is embodied in time and energy. That is the measure of our wealth and freedom. How much lifetime do you have to spend to get what you need to live it?
