Ever since Big Time, Marc has been on the pantheon of guitar players I regard as unique and important. And I really dig this trio setup of his. Marc's vibe says to me this is a guy that is all about the music itself. I can relate to that.

It's a shuffle similar to Miles' Davis "Jack Johnson". The drummer Chad Taylor reminds me of Billy Cobham and Jack DeJohnette.

McLaughlin is garbage. His ears are shot making him choose lousy pickups and thus tone. Not to mention his ego. Which has him as king and the rest of the musicians as subservient s. Which makes for very droll music. He had a few good years and failed to evolve

I saw Mr. Ribot in late ‘80s near Philadelphia Zoo playing with Elvis Costello after the release of the “Spike” album. That record gave him some major exposure. It was an excellent concert by the way. Who’s playing drums on this video?

I learned from my guitar teach to sit straight while playing. I guess that's the part they forgot to learn Marc Ribot, but he is a million times better guitar player than me and a 10000 times better player than my teacher. So teacher, how about that.
